Arrived at 6pm on a Sunday to find this "hotel" locked up and no-one around. Walking around we found a rear door also locked with a small notice with a phone number. Called that and were given a number to open key press to gain entry. Any guests who could not speak German would probably have been totally lost.
While I would expect this from a budget chain hotel this is a town centre hotel charging town centre prices.
We got then: No reception. No restaurant. No bar. After a long drive not what we were expecting.
As the place was closed when we made our booking the previous day why were we not informed at that time instead of finding out when we arrived?
Room was reasonable but a packet of Haribos on the pillow was definitely not any compensation.

Zentrale Lage nahe City und Bahnhof. Garage für Fahrräder vorhanden. Kein Aufzug, steile Treppen, WLAN in oberen Stockwerk schwach.

Die Zimmer waren sauber, das Personal freundlich.
Das Hotel liegt am Ortseingang direkt an der gut befahrenen Straße und an der Bahnlinie. Daher ist es sehr laut.

Nie wieder. Unfreundlicher Check-in, schmuddelige Zimmer mit Schimmel und Insekten an der Decke, direkt an der Bahn, nicht barrierefrei (2. Stock über steile Treppen), lieblos eingerichtet … Ochsenfurt war, bis auf die historischen Mauern, eine große Enttäuschung. Ein Städtchen ohne Flair und Geschmack und ohne gute Gastronomie. Das nächste Mal gibt’s einen Zwischenstopp in Sommerhausen oder Rothenburg.

Ich bin seit 2011 immer wieder Mal im Bären. Die Bewirtschaftung hat vor ein paar Jahren gewechselt. Dadurch ist einiges besser aber die Küche etwas schlechter geworden. Sie ist immer noch gut, nur der vorherige Chef war leidenschaftlicher Koch und hat den einen und anderern Traum gezaubert. Die Zimmer sind einfach aber sauber. Die Lage an sich ist sehr gut, direkt am Eingang der Altstadt gelegen. Durch den in der Nähe gelegenen Bahnhof kann es aber etwas laut werden. Parkmöglichkeiten für bt es auch: 6 Parkplätze vor dem Hotel (umsonst), nebenan ist gleich ein Parkhaus.
