South Coast Horizon

The Kayak and Scooba Diving were an amazing experience. Kevon and Captain Alex were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, and took us through the mangroves on kayaks (fun). They then took us out to the reef snorkeling where they pointed out turtles, rays (of various varieties and sizes, some gigantic), and barracuda. It was astounding being so close to all these beautiful creatures. They were patient and careful, funny and informative. We were a small group and we really bonded over some tasty rum punch (fruit punch was also available). Altogether an unforgettable experience which we highly recommend.

A refreshing experience whilst we travelled around Antigua . You need bring food as the buses are few and far between , but the taxi driver from the airport was happy to stop at a supermarket and wait for us , without charging any extra ! The rooms were clean and tidy , you need mosquito spray . The frogs are very loads at night , all night so bring earplugs . The apar**ents have a quiet pool to relax in and you can walk through the mangroves and swim from the beach . The staff were happy to help and were friendly . A great place amidst the hustle and bustle to relax and enjoy the surrounds . It’s a rain forest so it does rain a short time most days .

Did the kayaking and snorkelling combo tour with my kids on 1st June 2023. Nice, interesting kayaking through the mangroves, then short boat ride out to the mooring point on the reef, where we did about an hour snorkelling. Although the reef is mostly dead coral, there were nice patches of live coral, reasonable fish life and a couple of turtles, making it a nice snorkel, particularly for the kids. The organisation and equipment was good, and the guides were really great. Definitely recommend.

I loved the property and how it was set up. A few tiny things ******d me. The jacuzzi bath didn't have a stopper so couldnt use it as a bath. The shower wasnt cleaned properly, there was hairs all over. No other plugs for international guests. Some of the lights didnt work.

South Coast Horizons is a great eco-friendly option that I'm surprised gets very little attention. This boutique is located on the southwest of the island, in the "country". It's a beautiful picturesque setting, with the option to walk or kayak through the mangroves and hike through the nearby forests. The studio rooms are actually very nice and modern, and set up for self catering. The hotel is a bit far, and no real amenitities, although there are a few restaurants a short bus ride away. If you are going through the mangrove wetlands, if just to observe the nature or on your way to the beach, DEFINITELY cover up and wear bug spray on your way through, as there are lots of tiny critters that are native to the environment that will bite, especially around dusk/dawn. The beach itself is ok, but a bit shallow. The pool is lovely, and they recently renovated the area around it, to include charging stations, so it's a great hangout if you're staying as a group. Again, this hotel is pretty far away from the main areas of action, so either have your own transport or arrange some. But it is definitely a picturesque option for persons looking to getaway and relax.

Thanks again for such an amazing stay. Everyone was so friendly and helpful and we couldn't have picked a better place on the island. It's in a lovely quiet neighbourhood with beautiful views both out to sea and in and around the grounds. Couldn't recommend SCH enough.

Great place to stay, but not close to much, which is the only downside. Great to stay here if you have a car, & like being alone, but if not, probably better to stay in Jolly Harbour, where we had to end up driving to for groceries & dinner. There are allegedly some small, local restaurants nearby in the small town of Morris Bay, but none were open. A bit farther, in Carlisle Bay, there is a fantastic (but pricey but worth it) Greek restaurant about a 15 min walk, with beautiful views.

This is Fantastic property set in a quiet rural location, in a gated community with it’s own fabulous pool and a views of the sea. It’s a short 10 min drive to Jolly Harbour or 20 min to English Harbour. There is a huge amount of well kept grounds to stroll around, with a short walk to it’s own private beach. The staff are wonderful. Housekeeping come every other day and do a fantastic job. Security is on every night. The accommodation is immaculately clean & comfortable and with only 10 or so villas on the property it’s never crowded. This is a real gem on the south coast of Antigua, just around the corner from some of the most prestigious resorts in Antigua. Well worth staying!!
