Mango Hill Central Ooty

Situated just slightly out of town this is certainly one of the nicest hotels in my month long time in India. My room was super comfortable as was the bed. There was a hot shower ( a rarity sometimes ) and my delicious evening meal was served in my room. A buffet breakfast was included in the price. I must mention Shoba the receptionist who was excellent and dealt easily with all my queries and allowed me keep my room longer than the official check out time.

No welcome drink, no break fast as promised, no toilet accessories not even a pouch of milk powder. Room and bathroom was dirty. Compare to this their property at Yercauf is much better. Boys were unprofessionally handling all. Food was very bad.

I made my reservation at this hotel on their website. When I got there at 2:00 pm, the check-in process went smoothly. 4 rooms were reserved (3 adult rooms-1, 2 adult rooms-3). Other rooms cost 5200 each, while premium rooms cost 7100. All of the beds were the same size as I walked in, and none of them were long enough for someone who was tall. There was no soap, shampoo, or anything else available in the restroom.The rooms and bathrooms are identical to those of a typical lodge, therefore I'm not sure why this establishment is rated three stars. Three of the four rooms I reserved have no view of the outside. The parking was a mess and its almost impossible to take your vehicle outside without the support of other vehicle owners and securtiy. The way to the hotel is very narrow. I had a problem with a taxi driver who refused to let me pass through and insisted that I move, which caused damage to his mud flap and cost me 500 rupees. I was furious because I would have slapped the haughty *** for his offensive remarks and he would not have received a single rupee from me if this had happened in my hometown. Never, ever choose this hotel if you are heading to Ooty with your family to take advantage of the nice weather and spend some valuable time together. Positives: the complimentary breakfast was only passable, and the front desk and security personnel were friendly.

Too expensive for this property. No great amenities, washrooms are ok ok and not that well placed.

Rooms' interiors, reception, restaurant and parking facility are good. Below are points where the hotel needs to work. 1. Repair the water leakage in the rooms as well as in the washroom. 2. During peak times, improve the strength of manpower for the breakfast buffet and also maintain something to keep food warm. I felt almost every guest had problems with getting utensils or warm food.

Property location is near to market although restaurant is very small but food quality and taste was good, staff is helpful
