Chateau Appony

What a great stay we had in Chteau Appony! Everything was excellent! The rooms, the service, the food and the wellness! If you ever want to say in an excellent hotel, this is the place to be

It's nice to be out there with a family or friends, but it is very spacious and quiet to he there on a regular basis. Went there for family wedding last year. Nice scenariu and lovely being in the country side of Slpvakia, as it was our first time there. Scenery rinds me of the streets from where I came from e.g. Romania and Ireland combined

Where do I begin? My same sex partner had tried to book a weekend stay but it was busy with a wedding. So we arrived on the 31st July. I have to praise the receptionist. She was so accommodating, allowed us to leave wellness gear behind the counter and even praised my Slovak. Lunch was wonderful: such a beautiful setting and the attention the main waiter made was excellent. The pea soup was great. Then there was the library tour for which you pay extra: it was a bit like a Harry Potter experience. I loved the enthusiasm of the guide. My partner is Slovakian and he did interpret important points but I think the chateau does need to make its English paper guides more extensive. However, I was very impressed how at the end of the tour the guide took the time to give a resume in English and I appreciate his effort. Then we went to the wellness centre. I loved the receptionist, a lady with dark hair in her fifties. She was so welcoming. The swimming pool is alright and the different saunas good. My only suggestion would be to be able to have a glass of bubbly delivered from the restaurant to the terrace. Criticism: the men’s changing room was ridiculously hot. It needs some fresh air. Would I go back? Definitely. A great afternoon finished by a beer on the terrace. Dakujem.

Excellent hotel. Staff are tremendous!

The building and the grounds are lovely, and the interior is ok. It is a pity that the inside of the hotel did not see the same level of inves**ent. The main issues for me were: * The bedroom lacked air conditioning, and the furniture looked like it belonged to a 1-star hotel: terrible taste and quality. * The food was ok, but nothing special at all. I can cook better at home. Dinner was quite ordinary, and breakfast was very disappointing. * The spa has a nice pool and jacuzzi, but the sauna was just a build-up wooden cabin that one could have at home. It fits at the most about 4 or 5 people if you squeeze. * The interior decoration could have been nicer. They have lovely arches that are hardly brought to life. Overall, I don't believe the hotel was worth £100+ for the night.
