Hotel Grien

Very friendly and hardworking family Avezany. We have been coming to this hotel for 18 years with the whole big family. Beautiful view from the window and terrace, delicious and high-quality food marked by Michelin experts, cleanliness and comfort in the room, good SPA, friendly and welcoming staff. I really want to come in the summer and admire this beauty. The feeling that you are not in a hotel but visiting the Avezany family. Thank you. We will definitely plan our next trip to you.

Thank you to all the wonderful staff at Hotel Grien for making our week stay in the Dolomites so memorable. I can’t recommend this Hotel enough from the excellent rooms, beds, shower pressure, spa and the exceptional restaurant. They even go to the extent to offer soft, medium, hard pillows to suit your sleep preference. The shuttle service to the ski lifts is also very efficient. Can’t wait to return!

Grien Hotel is our favorite family owned getaway hotel in Italy. The kids have access to skiing & bus service daily, excellent multi course meals every evening, along with an excellent wine list, not to mention the cheese tasting, but my absolute favorite is the spa with inside swimming pool, steam rooms, saunas & relaxing lounge area where I can hide from my kids. I always come back feeling refreshed & relaxed. Monica & Rainer are the most warm and welcoming hosts & we always feel like we’re visiting old friends when we go back. I truly can’t say enough good things about Grein- & also the fabulous staff who cater to our every whim. Magical✨

What a lovely hotel in a perfect setting. Our welcome and the service from all staff from start to finish was excellent. The shuttle to the ski lifts and back was very much welcome after a long hike. The rooms are very comfortable, the spa/wellness area so relaxing. We thoroughly enjoyed the lovely breakfast spread and the lovely gourmet dinners. Staff took time to engage with guests, Our weather was a bit mixed and we didn’t get to go on some of the higher hikes we had planned but perhaps next time! #hotelgrien

This place is a MUST stay. If you are going to the Dolomites, this hotel is the only place you should stay. We booked Room 102---and the views are SO stunning that I didn't want to leave the room! However, the rest of the hotel is worth exploring! The 3 levels of spa that are available to use after a long day of hiking, was a splendid retreat. The half board is worth the extra money for the fine dining, food and service. Olga was a fantastic server and we looked forward to seeing her at breakfast and dinner. Every staff member would bend over backwards to make sure our stay was at a 5 star level. For a homemade treat, have Rainer make you a Ginger drink. Ohhh...I'm still dreaming of that drink! So delish! The shuttle service into town was super fast. Even when we called to be picked up from town, the driver was to us within 5 minutes of the call! You can hike directly from the hotel, and take the free bus pass along to hike as long as you want and take the bus back to town. So convienient! Prior to our arrival the staff was quick with responses and answered every question with patience. We will be dreaming of returning to Hotel Grien and hope to return as soon as we can!

We stayed 9 days at this special hotel just outside the center of Ortisei run by the Avesani family. We were in a Dolomiti room with a terrace off the room and a stunning view of Sassalunga and the Odles group of mountains. Breakfast was a wonderful full buffet with the ability to order eggs, omelets, etc... We especially loved the local honey and homemade jams. Dinner was phenomenal - a jam-packed salad buffet and appetizers followed by 3 choices of a first course, 3 choices for a second course, and dessert options. The wine list is very comprehensive and features some of the smaller local producers - Rainer Avesani had some great suggestions, and we discovered interesting new wines. His wife Monika treated us one evening to a sampling of different types of local cheeses that was quite memorable. Sunday was a special gala dinner night with a set dinner but they were always able to accommodate dietary restrictions. But what makes this hotel very special is the staff -- from the wait staff, cleaners, and staff who drove the shuttle back and forth from the hotel to various places in Ortisei. We were not sure how the hotel shuttle would work out, but it was wonderful not to have to worry about finding parking in town and instead call and have the shuttle show up almost immediately. We cannot wait to return.
