Just outside Warsaw, but relatively well connected by train, is the HIR Jozefow; an idyll on the edge of extensive forests and a small tributary of the Vistula, the Swider. A relaxing stay is guaranteed simply because of this location. In addition, the house offers many recreational opportunities, from the spa area to the golf and tennis courts and bicycle rental to a ropes course for children, which offer new varieties every day. On arrival at HIE Jozefow a room upgrade and various nicely designed amenities were waiting for us. The view from the balcony glided over the abundant trees of the hotel property, the playgrounds and sports fields as well as the golf courses. The afternoon sun, when it seemed, heated us up strongly. The beds were of high quality and provided a restful sleep. If you wanted, you could choose from the richly filled (paid) minibar or help yourself to the other cold and hot drinks provided free of charge. In the bathroom, only the ancient shower curtain, which was to be replaced by a fixed shower enclosure, disturbed. Even showering in a bathtub is probably no longer quite up to date, but practicable for sporty condition. Culinary highlights of our stay were the visits to the restaurant Luna & Sol of the hotel. The new chef knew how to create an offer that goes far beyond the level of a usual Holiday Inn, especially in the evenings; and this at a reasonable price level. Whether you helped yourself to the extensive buffet or put together an à la carte menu yourself: local, fresh products, cleverly prepared, always contributed to a successful evening. Of the leisure facilities, we once again made intensive use of the spa area during our stay. The swimming pool and the two saunas promised a varied stay almost at any time. Unfortunately, the indoor pool has only five, quite uncomfortable, because much too hard loungers (without pads), which should be exchanged for those much more comfortable loungers from the relaxation area of the spa. We would like to take this opportunity to thank two people who made our stay extremely pleasant, on behalf of the many employees we met: On the one hand, the Front Office and Reservation Manager who always had an ear for our concerns; on the other hand, the General Manager did everything in his power, to give us a feeling of well-being during our days in ”his” house. Even in its 15th year of existence, the Holiday Inn Jozefow more than lives up to its reputation as a 4-star first-class hotel. The standards that the management practices in this house should give other hotels an example of how upscale hotels should and can function despite the current, worldwide difficulties.

Hotel is situated in business district within short 5-10 minutes ride from WAW airport ( 17 - 20 PLN for taxi ). Moderately priced. New building with kind of industrial design, everything inside fresh and stylish. Rooms are comfortable and have everything inside for any traveller. Very good restaurant on site, which is also providing good and tasty breakfast. Negative - nothing specifically to mention. Positive - food and general ambience. Overall - highly recommend.

We stayed in this hotel for two nights; at our arrival we found that the hotel is not equipped with a parking for its customers that is not payable, which personally never happened, And the price, among other things, is almost the amount we paid for a week of car rental. I had a reservation done on 07.07.2022 for the night of 08.07.2022, but on 30.06.2022 I have received an email from V Hotel informing me that the reservation was canceled, and no other details. After a fast investigation, I came to the conclusion that it was canceled because of a failed attempt of payment on 30.06.2022, due to an insufficient balance on my Revolut account. A couple of hours after getting the email (around 17:00), I called the hotel to understand what was the possibilities of recovering the booking as I added enough funds on my Revolut account. I was told by the receptionist that probably it was possible, however the manager was not in the hotel, he had no idea on how to do it and that I would get a phone call one the manager would be on the hotel. I've waited until the next day, but got no call. I decided to call on the next morning (09:40) and another receptionist told me that the manager would be arriving in 20 minutes, and they would call me when that would happen. I waited 4 hours and had no contact whatsoever. So, I decided to call them again (at 13:30). I was greeted by another receptionist, that simply suggested that I would create another booking. Which I replied that I would like to have the old booking back has now the price would be much higher. Then I was told that no other rooms were available on the hotel, contradicting the previous suggestion. After showing my disappointment for the lack of flexibility and effort to try to solve the issue in good terms, I was told once again that they would call me when the manager would come back. I asked when that would be and I was told that it would be on 05.07 or 06.07 (so I would be waiting for a reply until 2 days before the date of check in - assuming that they would call me). Obviously, I refused that since I would have to start looking for another hotel room right away. In the end of the call, I asked for the name of the person to which I was talking to and in return the receptionist hanged the phone on me (I was never rude or indelicate). Prime example of professionalism! To consider that 08.07 is the day of a concert of Coldplay in Warsaw and the demand for hotel rooms is very high for that day, and the hotel canceled my reservation on the first try to get the payment, in order to get another booking that would give them more money. In result, I lost my reservation and had to book a much more expensive hotel room elsewhere. My main complaints here are: - I only got one email, without any details on why the reservation was canceled; - There was no attempt to contact me over the phone in order to proceed with the payment on a different way; - The attempts of just make wait for their call until I would forget or give up; - The utterly unprofessional atitude of the last receptionist with whom I spoke, that didn't do any effort to solve the issue, gave me contradictory information and hang up the phone in my face.
