Comfortable chalets, nice hot showers. Great dinner on Friday night. Experienced an amazing hike on the farm with lots of sightings. Superb host at the Restaurant, food was good. The only negative was possible firmer mattresses as ours was too soft.

Due to misguidance in the information while booking, the host agreed upon paying back half of the amount that we payed for a full stay, while we did not sleep there and left to stay somewhere else. We thought this was a really nice gesture and agreed. We would still be paying half, but that was our choice. We trusted this man and took him on his word. It seemed like a nice encounter. The host never payed us back and now discusses that he promised to do so. All our stays during our trip in South Africa we rated 9 or 10, but in this case we decided to put a bad review up. Please note the following before booking here: Wifi is available only in the reception area (so actually not at all) and the heaters in the chalets are dangerous and should not be used in small spaces ( manufacturers manual states the chance of carbon monoxide poisoning).

Come to see by foot (!) plenty game (girafe, antilopes, ostriches....). Feeding time is 0800 and 1600, a must to be there. If very hot, then rooms are likely better than chalets, as they are thedged roofed. Pool is great, restaurant is a must and excellent. WLAN only at restaurant (which is actually positive!!). We'll be back!.

We loved our stay here as it was our first taste of seeing a bit of wildlife (a giraffe and various antelope) and the mountain views were fantastic. The chalets are basic but quite comfortable and sitting out at night star gazing without any light pollution was great. We ate at the on site restaurant both nights of our stay and the meals were delicious. The poo area is also a nice place to spend an afternoon.

By accident looking for accommodation outside Oudtshoorn, (Dont like noisy Towns) we found a surprise get=away. Brand new development in the Klein Karoo 15 kms outside Oudtshoorn. We stayed 2 days. Lovely, in the mountains, What we liked most was the absolute peace, both day and night. The Restaurant served a well prepared cuisine at very affordable prices. The accommodation was perfect and was very affordable, Its was extremely hot 44 C and during the day we got a surprize when a big bag of ICE was delivered to our door without even ordering. The staff (not mentioning names as we could not favour one over the other) they were all so very very friendly, caring and efficient. The owners were very caring as well, and even invited (hauled us) out of our cosy room to go and have a cocktail with them on out last evening. We often go to the eastern cape and this will be out goto stopover in future. Thanks to all of you, it is seldom we have come across such loving and caring staff, you know who your are.

Charlene made a excellent service. The room with Mountain view was beautiful. It was nice to discover the animals.The pool is amazing. The breakfast and diner are delicious. We Love the scones with cheese.We had a great stay.

The lodge is a drive outside of town and has a gravelroad. Access into property was a little challenging as the number advertised on property board was no longer in use. Antelope, giraffe and ostriches walk around freely. The Mountain view suites was sufficient but needs some creature comforts like a table on deck and curtain/blind in bathroom. Dinner at restaurant was tasty albeit the very small menu. We had very firm mattresses and the pillows weren't great so we didnt sleep well. Also only one small fan in room. Breakfast was a major fry up with the focus on meat. In summary: surrounded by nature, peaceful,with some extra amendities. Don't expect the best night sleep.

We were at Klein Karoo Game lodge for 2 nights - a magical place in the Klein Karoo desert, just the right spot to get away from it all. The chalet had everything you needed (and thanks to solar even unaffected by load shedding, and thanks to a gas heating it‘s even a warm and cosy place in the south african winter). The best of it all (next to the super friendly and helpful host) is the wildlife … a giraffe watching you have breakfast is something magical !
