The Oxford House

It’s a little way out of the centre but there are buses passing by every couple of minutes. It’s comfortable well appointed the walls are a little thin but it’s ok. You also have to go up a flight of stairs.

We felt it wasnt suitable for visitors with cars as there's little parking. It's a flat above a Turkish barbers on a very very busy road. But it may be fine for pedestrians as lots of buses outside going into town. Personally i wouldn't feel happy about staying in this area if I was a single female.

Good budget stay for Oxford. Good communication preparing for the visit. Not plush, but clean and practical place to rest your head. TV and internet, off street parking and loads of tea and coffee available. Nice and warm on a freezing January night.

The Oxford House is a great place to stay for a quick night in Oxford on a budget. We dropped in without a pre-booked reservation on a quick stop in Oxford on our road trip out to Wales and got a room right away without any issues. Our room was tidy, clean and was stocked with tea and coffee. Parking was free and available right out front.

Dear Sir/Madam Because of the following we would like our Fee of £58.50 refunded. Following your recommendation, my wife and I booked a room in the, The Oxford House Hotel. Having driven around for some time we found the accommodation over the top of local shops with rubbish strewn all-round and parking almost on the pavement, Having asked at a local shop as how to enter, we were eventually met by Malick who escorted us to our room. Only to find it uninhabitable, smelling of Damp, Cold, and a very large area of fungus/damp coming down the wall less then 2 feet from the bed. (PHOTO PROOF AVAILABLE) Dispite Malick trying to placate us we felt we had no option other than to leave the premises to find an alternative stop-over. Awaiting your quick response. Mr R. Manley. On arriving at Oxford House guest House.We quickly realised there was a mistake,the guest house room didn't match any photographs on booking. Com, it wasn't clean decorating wasn't upto scratch. It is 5 rooms over 2 shops ,one way in 1 way out . No fire doors. We quickly made our apologies PAYED IN FULL AND LEFT. Only to find out they informed booking .com we didn't show up , and incured an £80 Penalty. Would of been cheaper if we not paid before we left . WARNING DO NOT USE THIS PLACE , RIP OFF.

Where do I start?……there was nowhere to park, the walls were so thin you could hear a Knat fart in the next room, the smoke alarm had a carrier bag over it and the room stank of cigarettes, there was mould on the ceiling and in the morning we found the shower to be unusable as the water temperature was so hot it would take your skin off! Now I could forgive some of this but then I found my credit card had been over charged by £70 and when I rang the hotel office they didn’t want to know!…………AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE!
