Cassaro261 B&B

My recent stay at Cassaro 261 B&B left much to be desired. We had planned to stay 6 nights in total, but sought alternative accommodation after one night. While the concept of a bed and breakfast is usually associated with cozy and inviting accommodations, my experience felt more like staying in a converted apar**ent. Firstly, the layout of the B&B is unconventional, with all rooms leading directly onto the breakfast area. This setup resulted in significant noise levels, especially during mornings when guests gathered for breakfast. The lack of soundproofing made it difficult to rest peacefully. Moreover, the overall ambiance was dampened by the run-down and dark entrance to the building. The lack of adequate lighting and the condition of the entrance did not inspire confidence in the safety and security of the premises. A major concern was the absence of emergency exit lights or any visible evacuation plan. In the event of an emergency, guests would likely face challenges navigating their way to safety, which is unacceptable for any accommodation establishment. In summary, while Cassaro 261 B&B may offer affordable lodging, the converted apar**ent-like a**osphere, noise issues, and safety shortcomings detracted significantly from the overall experience. Improvement in these areas is essential to ensure the comfort and well-being of guests.

Cassaro 261 was such a nice place to spend our few days in Palermo. The location is great, the rooms are clean, and the breakfast was good with several different options to choose from each morning. The B&B is located in an apar**ent building so it can be a little confusing to find, but once you do, it is peaceful and lovely. Francesca and Alessandro were extremely helpful when we were dealing with lost luggage from the airport, and so friendly. Wonderful place!

Francesca, our host, was very friendly and accommodating. The room was lovely, comfortable, and the location was exceptional… within walking distance to many sites. For an additional €20/day, we took advantage of valet parking. We would definitely stay here again!

I arrived late, at 8:00 pm, and the taxi dropped me off at the nearest corner on ViaVittorio Emanuele. I had the hardest time finding 261 Via Vittorio Emanuelle: it is an Office Bldg type glass door set back from the street with no sign for Cassaro 261 BB. Luckily I could call Francesca who came down and showed me to the Cassaro 261. It is a set of rooms in a larger Apt, involving several keys. The room was very clean. adequate, and close to everything. Just be aware that it is hard to find! and arrive during the day !!!

Francesca was very responsive to my questions. I stayed in a suite so had a living room which was so lovely. Lots of restaurants nearby. It can be a bit noisy with street music down the road but I enjoyed that.

We stayed at Cassaro 261 for 2 nights in the middle of our 2 week tour of Sicily. It was a lovely place to be based in the old town area, just a few minutes walk to most of the sights, plus many restaurants and bars very close by. The apar**ent itself was very spacious, modern and well presented. Alessandro was also really friendly and helpful, and made us feel very welcome. The main downside with visiting Palermo by car is that much of city, especially old town, has restricted access (ZTL) zones. For tourists this is very challenging to manage, and the information available (or not available) can be very confusing. For this reason, we parked at the long stay car park by the central station and then walked to Cassaro 261, which was about a 15 minute walk.

Cassaro 261 is a little gem perfectly located in the heart of Palermo's historic area. One is able to walk everywhere - tourist attractions, train and bus stations, supermarkets, and the waterfront. The staff is friendly, helpful and immediately responded to our calls for assistance, like when we inadvertently locked ourselves out of our room. The rooms were bright, cheery, and most importantly immaculate. The refrigerator in the common area was a plus for us. I have stayed here twice and will make it three times on my next trip to Palermo.

I loved this B&B. Although that was not my first impression. We arrived in the evening and the building looked like a big, square Soviet-style apar**ent building from decades past. That all changed when we got to our room: modern, bright, cheerful, and immaculate. There is a common room that has a refrigerator and coffee maker. The staff is very accommodating. It's just two minutes from the Quatro Canti, so you will be near some great restaurants, shopping, and close to a city information office. Just note, that like all B&Bs you will need to text or call to arrange for a check-in time. No 24/7 front desk. Will definitely return on my next trip to Palermo.
