This hotel is incredibly poorly staffed from the general manager to the chamber staff. I had been travelling in the national park before arriving so I was dirty and dishevelled. When I arrived the manager was stood outside and stared rudely, as though we were scum. I assumed he was a customer ans stared back to challenge him. Eventually he smiled at me. When I went to reception, I was shocked to realise he was the manager. My guide was trying to check me in and to show him a copy of my identity card. He was refusing and rudely insisted on seeing my passport. I have Indonesian residency and my card is enough there is no reason under law for him to need my passport. It is not just that he did this, but how rude and superior he was when he did it. This is not the way to treat guests. I will admit to being rather scathing with him and after a little while he became obsequious, dropping his superiority. What is most ironic, about this is that the hotel room they gave me was dirty and exceedingly poorly maintained. I found hairs in the bed and insisted they change the sheets. The door of a cupboard fell off when they did this. The maintenance people's solution was to hold it in with a piece folded up paper so it fell out again an hour later. One of the plug sockets did not work. The chair in the room was so filthy the arms were black. I am afraid as the manager had been so snobby and rude, I took some delight in making him come and see everything and forcing him to fix it. If he had been nice I probably would have stopped at the sheets. Anyway, long story, but I would not stay here again if I could avoid it. And the owner should fire their incompetent manager who spends far more time making himself look good and standing around intimidating guests than doing his job and supervising his staff. In covid times in particular - it was not like he had many guests.
