The Tides Lodge

I arrived in the lodge on 23rd December 2019 with my family for four nights.It was awesome! Great food, great staffs! Karla(Manager) was very helpful. We loved everything! We can't wait to go back again!

My husband, myself, and two teenage boys stayed at tide lodge for 3 days in August. As soon as we arrived we knew it would be special. Wilhelm and Karla go out of their way to ensure their guests are taken care of in every way. Wilhelm welcomed us personally upon arrival and carefully took the time to explain to us all the ins and outs of the Lodge. Karla checked in on us every evening at dinner offering suggestions for day time activities and just exchanging adventures. Karla went out of her way to help me get some medicines that I needed for which I am forever grateful. Their warm and lovely disposition, combined with Tides intimate and beautiful setting away from the meat market of Zanzibar, made us feel like we were being taken care of by family, not an impersonal lodge or hotel After almost 9 days camping in the various game reserves, we could not have asked for a more relaxing time in a beautiful/prestine beach setting that was quiet. The local villages nearby are local and provide a chance to enjoy and experience authentic Tanzanian coastal life. The bungalows themselves were extremely clean, tastefully decorated spacious, and well maintained, something I am very particular about. The food was delicious, healthy and fresh. I looked forward to breakfast every day! Three days was the perfect length of stay for us. Asante sana Wilhelm and Karla and to all of the staff for a wonderful stay. We look forward to getting back there. In the mean time, we have nothing but fond memories.

The Tides was an ideal end to our Tanzanian vacation. We chose to visit Pangani as opposed to Zanzibar as we wanted something quiet and remote. We were the only people who got off the plane! The lodge offers bungalows right on the beach. Carla, one of our hosts, was amazing! We were surprised at just how good the food was. The snorkeling on Maziwi island was fabulous!

This hotel has been closed for years. We could book it on a big and popular hotel booking page (they have since removed it from the range at our request). Then we stood in front of a neglected garden and a locked gate, and the Maasai guard spoke only Swahili.

Als je op zoek bent naar een mooie, gezellige, veilige strand lodge dan is the Tides echt iets voor jou. Op een rustige plek direct aan een mooi breed strand en toch maar 40 min met het vliegtuig vanaf Dar. Hoewel genoeg te doen (bezoek aan Pangani, snorkelen, in het zwembad plonsen, dow varen en zee kayakken) ga je hier vooral naar toe voor de fantastische plek, het lekkere eten, de aardige mensen en de vallende sterren! Ik ga zeker terug!

Io e mio marito abbiamo, tramite e-mail, contattato Mister James proprietario del The Tides lodge, che ci ha fatto un ottimo prezzo: 80 usd per 8 notti in mezza pensione. Eravamo in Tanzania da oltre un mese e il soggiorno in questo lodge è stata un'ottima sorpresa, sia per la buona cucina, sia per le spiagge deserte e infinite, sia per gli chalet tutti sulla spiaggia talmente in riva all'oceano che la notte faticavi a dormire per il rumore delle onde: ti sembrava di venir portata via in alto mare. Lo consiglio alle persone che vogliono solitudine e il nulla perchè non troverete niente se non voi stessi!!!
