I loved this hotel so much! The staff especially was wonderful. On the day I arrived, at 10 am, the young man at the front who was there for most of my stay (I wish I had learned his name -- my fault!) offered me a bonus welcome breakfast since breakfast time had just ended and they had food left. Boy I needed that! And he stored my luggage immediately, later bringing it to my room for me when I checked in. For the rest of my stay, the staff was like this -- welcoming, friendly, quick to switch to English when my halting French wouldn't come, and ever so helpful! They also happily arranged to start breakfast 30 minutes early for me on my day of departure. A solo traveler, I stayed in one of the two single rooms -- the red one, if you're looking at the pictures. It was just big enough and had space enough for my stuff, especially on a short trip. It was well equipped -- coffee maker, kettle for tea, a bottle of water, hair dryer if you need it, shower gel/shampoo in the shower, soap, body lotion, shower cap, and a little sewing set (I think -- I didn't open it). There's a safe in the cupboard and hanging and shelf space in there, as well as coat rack. The lighting is all well placed, including a reading light next to the bed and a switch for the overhead light there. The bathroom lighting could be better, but there's a mirror in the room that gets some more natural light. And a touch I really liked: a USB port next to the bed for charging your phone (I never needed my converter plug!). The bed also has a nice shelf behind it for your book/phone/kindle, whatever, though I also used the small stool in the room as a nightstand. There's also a TV in the room, which I never used, and a phone (also not used). The bathroom is quite spacious for such a hotel -- I've had much tinier ones in singles in 2-star hotels. And the shower is *great* -- great pressure, two shower heads (rain and detachable wand), and hot water immediately. It also clears out the humidity and condensation pretty quickly. There's a towel heater, too -- a lovely touch. The bed and pillows were comfortable, although I always get too hot under a duvet and then too cold when I throw it off. One of these days I'll figure out how to balance that. Though the room faces the street, it was reasonably quiet -- some noise gets through, but not a lot (for example, the ambulances on their way to and from St. Antoine Hospital do come through, as does the delivery truck noise early in the morning for the bar next door). The windows open for fresh air and a nice view of Rue St. Antoine and the Rue di Rivoli, and there's a blackout curtain you can use at night to block it all out. And the room and the public areas of the hotel were all spotless – bright white sheets and towels, well-vacuumed floors, shining porcelain and tile. Breakfast was good -- lots of bread and pastries, coffee, juice, museli, and, if you want, proteins (yogurt, cheese and meat, egg). Basically, whatever your breakfast of ch
