Pension Sofia

I am conflicted about my stay here. On the plus side: very beautiful property. Very close to the Port of Parikia. Quiet and peaceful surroundings. Great price. Clean room. Loved the balcony. One the minus side: overall I found the customer service somewhat disorganized, poor, and lacking warmth. My sister had weird issues upon check-in: her reservation (the host showed no record of her reservation upon arrival?), the room size she paid for was not the room she got, and her room had no power at all when she checked in. We had to search for and flag down a man (presumably the host's husband?) in order to flip the breaker to get the power to come back on. There are no signs with information on how things in the room work (such as the power/light switch, the AC, and the shower, which were quite tricky - at least for me and the guest across the hall, too) and the hostess became quite hostile when she had to come to my room one night at 10pm to help me with the AC to get it to work. At that moment, I wanted to pack up and leave and go to another hotel. It seemed as if something was wrong (outside of the B&B) that was affecting her ability to be happy, warm, and welcoming with her guests. I also got the distinct feeling (from older reviews) that this accommodation used to be a lot more customer-friendly in their offerings (such as breakfast, and rides to/from the port, etc) and now, once you check in, you are basically on your own. I usually have such wonderful connections with my hosts, and this experience just left me feeling very flat, cold, and a bit sad. I avoided her as much as possible after the AC incident because I was so uncomfortable around her. In summary, with improvements to customer service, Pension Sofia could be such a heavenly place to stay. However, as it is, while I would go back to Paros in a heartbeat, I would definitely choose another accommodation for my stay. I have enjoyed so many amazing and kind hosts around the world (including other Greek islands), but this experience definitely fell short, and sadly, I would not recommend this accommodation experience for your stay in Paros.

Run by a delightful family who couldn’t do enough for us. Everything was superb. Teo collected us from the port and gave us such a lot of useful information. He also too is to the hospital when we needed help. Rena and Sofi made wonderful breakfasts, different every day.

Pension de famille dans une jolie maison avec un jardin très bien entretenu a quelques pas de la mer. Très bon accueil en français. On se sent comme chez ses grands-parents ! Chaque chambre a sa terrasse. C'est très calme. La literie n'est pas aux dernières normes mais vu la prix il n'y a rien a redire. Pas de petit déjeuner mais plusieurs options dans le quartier.

Apres avoir passé une nuit dans un "hotel" digne du routard des annees 70 dont nous tairons le nom nous avons pu passer deux nuits a la pension Sofia.Tout simplement parfait. Une hôtesse charmante, une chambre très agréable et très confortable donnant sur le jardin, une literie confortable. Une propreté irréprochable. L adresse à ne pas manquer à Piriaki. ,

C’est avec un immense bonheur que nous avons retrouvé Sofia et Manolis, toujours aussi gentils et disponibles pour leurs hôtes. L’établissement est un véritable havre de paix avec le magnifique jardin entretenu avec amour par Manolis, les chambres très propres et confortables. Sofia vous met tout de suite à l’aise, ce qui fait que vous avez l’impression d’être « comme à la maison »! Le petit déjeuner est d’ailleurs maison (cake, petit friand, jus d’orange frais pressé..). A 5 mn du centre ville et à 2 mn de la mer c’est l’endroit idéal pour un séjour détendu et réussi à Parikia.

Nous avons passé 10 jours à Paros dans la Pension Sofia et vraiment… ça été du pur bonheur. Très bien accueillis par Sofia et Manolis, un gentil couple grec qui parle bien le français, ainsi que leurs adorables chats et chiens. Ils sont chaleureux, attentionnés, serviables, ils font tout pour qu’on se sente comme à la maison et… c’est réussi. Bien située, la Pension Sofia est à environ 100 m de la plage, 400 m du port et du centre de Parikia. Au calme, elle possède un grand jardin de toute beauté ou on peut s’y reposer ou prendre tout simplement le petit déjeuner. Malgré une salle de bains un peu petite avec une douche sans rideau ni porte vitrée, les chambres sont fonctionnelles et impeccables, la literie est confortable. Munies d’un balcon, certaines ont la vue sur la mer. Le petit déjeuner préparé par Sofia est bon et complet, du sucré, du salé, du jus d’orange frais, yoghourt grec et cakes fait maison. Nous n’avons pas hésité à louer une voiture auprès de Sofia. Service impeccable, elle nous a ainsi conseillés diverses visites sur l’ile et de très bons restaurants. Notre séjour s’est tellement bien passé que nous retournons, avec un grand plaisir, l’année prochaine. Excellent rapport qualité prix, nous recommandons sans hésiter la Pension Sofia.
