Cefn Mably Hotel

Very disappointing sold out of one meat dispute it being advertised on the board. No wine glasses, had to wait for some to be brought back and washed, or offered a sparkling wine glass for red wine. Noisy, basic and not memorable.

Fantastic place to eat , drink and relax.Ordered the chefs curry and enjoyed every mouthful .Warm welcome with first class service and a big smile highly recommended.The go to pub for us and are never disappointed.

This hotel/gastropub seems to have two separate Tripadvisor pages so I'll be leaving my review on both of them. The Cefn Mably is a small gastropub in Penarth, about a 20min drive from central Cardiff, and on a largely quiet street. The kitchen was unfortunately closed during our stay, but we were made aware of this prior to booking - and the staff, to their credit, were all to happy to make recommendations or facilitate food delivery services. The rooms are very basic but they're clean and affordable. That's really all a budget-conscientious traveller needs. Don't go in expecting luxury linens, toiletries, or the like and you'll be perfectly happy. The beds are comfortable and there is a functioning television with terrestrial television. Literally the only reason for 4* over 5* was the lack of Wi-Fi. Again, this was advertised prior to booking so I cannot complain too much. But it was nevertheless disappointing, as in this day and age even hostels typically offer this service.
