"I was mentally prepared, but I have to admit there was a slight letdown when I actually checked in. It was quite different from the hotels I usually stay at. The entire Guangzhou Street scenic area felt relatively deserted, and several of the NPCs seemed really bored and unengaged. My first impression was that I had checked into a place that was 'newly built but lacking historical charm.' The hotel amenities were probably on par with a budget hotel, but considering the price also included two admission tickets, I couldn't really ask for more. The breakfast was a relative bright spot. The freshly made xiaolongbao and wontons were pretty good. Thankfully, the Riverside Scene at Qingming Festival was still a lot of fun. My trip to Hengdian was mainly characterized by mediocre accommodation and extremely poor food."

"This hotel offers great value for money. The room was spotlessly clean and well-arranged. The front desk staff were warm, polite, and enthusiastically recommended sightseeing routes, which saved us a lot of time. Our entire experience was excellent. The hotel has its own parking lot, and there's a hundred-meter flower wall nearby, perfect for photos. The location is superb, very close to the attractions we wanted to visit, and we could just walk there. I genuinely recommend it!"

"The hotel staff were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble.  The hotel is very grand, however is a bit dated.  The breakfast has so many choices and you can watch the pork buns being made and cooked in the restaurant.  We received a complimentary bag of fruit each day and a departure gift. The hotel is very accessible to the Dream Valley (water and amusement park), Qin Palace and Scenic Parks.  I have included a photo of Dream Valley from our hotel window.  The water park was not functioning yet as we didn't visit during Summer, but the amusement and sea animal side of the park was open.  Qin Palace and Scenic Park are joined and just across the road from Dream Valley. I personally liked the Scenic Park the most out of all the parks.  The close proximity of the hotel enabled us to go back to our hotel for a rest half way through the day.  There is a lot of ground to cover.   The Western restaurant at the hotel appeared to be closed, and there was not lunch restaurant open in the hotel.  There is a small Chinese restaurant at the hotel open at night.  We walked into town about 15 mins to the food street for lunch.  The hotel is located in a small green area away from the Main Street. The Forbidden City and Guangzhou/Hong Kong parks are about a 15 min taxi ride away from the hotel. I recommend this hotel if you plan on going to Hengdian World Studios."

"The environment is absolutely fantastic! The Chinese rosewood decor creates a wonderful traditional vibe. The lobby is full of intricate Dongyang wood carving details. Our room was a super spacious one-bedroom, one-living-room suite, very open and airy, with comfortable bedding. The hotel is nestled by the mountains, so it's quiet and peaceful. The butler even left a thoughtful handwritten card and a fruit platter – the service was so warm! They also offer Hanfu experience. It's conveniently located, and I'll definitely stay here again next time I visit Hengdian!"

"This hotel is an absolute no-brainer – just book it! ✅Service: The front desk staff are practically mind-readers! I was just about to look for a charging cable, and they already handed one over. When I checked out, they even gave me two bottles of water for the road – so thoughtful. ✅Breakfast: Breakfast is served until 10 AM, which is a dream for late risers! I had two bowls of wontons. My only 'suggestion': Can the egg chef please stop asking me 'sunny side up or over easy' every time? Just give me a soft-boiled egg, please! 😄 ✅Hanfu Experience: Free! Free! Free! The styles are quite new and don't have that cheap 'ten-yuan photo studio' feel. I spent half an hour taking photos in the hotel garden, saving myself 60 yuan on hanfu rental at the scenic spot. Small suggestion: It would be even more perfect if they could provide a few simple hair clips or fan props. With just the clothes, my hands didn't know where to go... ✅Location: It's about a 5-minute walk to the scenic area's main entrance – literally 'out the hotel door, and around the corner'. If you get tired, you can come back to relax and then head out again. It's a blessing for those traveling with seniors or children. Overall, it's a super high-value, one-stop accommodation for lazy travelers. I'll definitely stay here again next time. Hopefully, they'll have a few more XL-sized Hanfu outfits then! 😂"

"Super fun! This was one of the theme hotels that were hidden on the Guangzhou Street and Hong Kong Street set. Appropriately, the Rosslyn Hotels' brand icon is the Landlady from Kungfu Hustle. Upon arrival, you check in at the North Gate's Tourist Services Desk. The concierge welcomed me with a complimentary bag of fresh fruit and asking me to add their butler (Housekeeper Xiao Xiao) to my WeChat. If I needed anything, I just had to text the Housekeeper Xiao Xiao (who was super helpful with all my questions (in English) during my stay). Then the bellhop whisked me away, via golf cart, to my hotel. There were several hidden hotels, with different themes, throughout the set. The bellhop took me through an unassuming door among into what looked like an empty set, and up an elevator to the room floors. The walkway offered a lovely view of the Ming Qing Palace set next door. The rooms were supposed to be themed as Guangzhou and Hong Kong in the 70s and 80s, but could easily pass for old Shanghai. The room was immaculate. The bed was very comfortable, the shower has nice and hot and with fantastic water pressure. The room has some of the largest closet space that I have seen in any hotel. The WiFi worked without the need to register a local cellphone number (I've found that many other hotels, in China, offered free WiFi, but you need to verify with an ID code text to you. The texts never come through to my U.S. phone number, so I have never been able to take advantage of free WiFi; that is until I got to this hotel.) The little details were delightful surprises around every corner. They always refer to guests as ”laoshi” (an honorific of teacher, or master, bestowed to actors) or as ”starlet”. Not gonna lie, I really wanted to take home the pair of the room's bone china cups. The stay also comes with very decent breakfast buffet that had both Chinese and western dishes. They will even make you fresh wontons and noodle soups to order. The restaurants in the park are not great and quite expensive by China's standard. I recommend loading up at the more tasty free breakfast to power through the day. The hotel's location was very convenient for touring Guangzhou Street and Hong Kong Street; which had very lively evening shows. (As you walk through the streets, look at the stores' signs and test your TV shows and movie knowledge by finding the Easter eggs.) The Qing Ming Palace Set is across the street from the Guangzhou Street and Hong Kong Street's South Gateon the other side of the park (don't worry, it's not that far). To access the other sets, you can take their shuttle, but it does not come around very often. It's more efficient to get a Didi. Overall, it was a magical stay of being in the movies."

"I booked a hotel and attraction package on Trip.com and chose this hotel from many options. When I arrived, the front desk simply said they'd upgraded my room for free. When I got to the room, I found out I'd been upgraded directly from a standard king room to a 60-square-meter business suite – I was so pleased! I immediately decided to stay an extra day and booked the cheapest room type. When I went down to the front desk to inform them, they said, 'Could you please give me your room card?' Then I was told they had again upgraded me to the business suite for my extended stay, and even gave me a free one-day pass to five major park attractions. I was so touched! **Amenities:** Very complete, everything you could think of and even things you wouldn't. **Hygiene:** Very clean and well-kept. For such a large room, it's impressive how meticulously it was cleaned. **Environment:** Very quiet. With the doors and windows closed, you can barely hear any noise. **Service:** Whether it was the front desk, the lobby manager, or housekeeping, everyone was warm, attentive, and always willing to help. I was very moved. Next time I come to Hengdian, I will definitely choose this hotel again."

"When visiting Hengdian, hotel prices near the scenic area are relatively high, so I chose to stay in Dongyang city center. It's about a 30-minute drive to Hengdian, making it very cost-effective. There's a parking lot outside the hotel with about 10-20 spaces, which is convenient for those driving. The rooms were clean, tidy, and well-equipped, making for a comfortable stay. Check-in was efficient; I had originally booked two adjacent rooms, but they weren't fully cleaned when I arrived in the afternoon. The front desk registered the room numbers and told me to check in later that evening. When I returned that evening, the original rooms had been reassigned, and the hotel proactively upgraded our room free of charge. Their service was excellent, and overall, I was satisfied with the experience."

"This hotel is really awesome! The sanitation is particularly in place, the room is clean and tidy, there is no smell, the corners and bathrooms are spotless, and the living is particularly comfortable. The supper tastes great, the ingredients are fresh and the taste is very good, and it is especially convenient to eat something hot late at night. The breakfast is rich in variety, the hot taste is homely and delicious, and the nutrition is full. The service is also very intimate and thoughtful, the overall stay experience is full, the price is super high, I will choose to stay next time, highly recommended!"
