Mama Beach Residence - Adults Only

This was the second time staying at Mama Beach. The hotel is small and right on the beach . The staff here are exceptional and are always smiling and happy & very hardworking The hotel sits at the end of the bay away from the hustle & noise of the centre of Phi Phi it’s around a 8 minute walk to the larger selection of restaurants and bars. There is a bar on the beach which serves drinks and also food during the day. The breakfast has a wide selection of food options, eggs , yogurt, fruits and pastries. Juices , tea & coffee etc… The rooms are cleaned daily and your given fresh towels daily. They have air con and a fan inside and a one on the terrace . We had a swinging bench seat on ours along with a longer and chair. The bed is large and very comfortable. All in all a perfect place to spend a few days.

Wonderful from start to finish . We only stayed 4 nights but will definitely be returning. From the porter meeting you off the ferry and taking you back to the ferry , the receptionists, cleaners , gardeners, waitresses, night watch man , you have the most wonderful staff offering top class service. The bungalows are spotlessly clean and the outside toilet and shower to each accommodation make your stay quirky and enjoyable. It feels family run and very cat friendly which is lovely to see . When you arrive you get a lovely warm welcome with a welcome drink and cold towel. The team are all so welcoming and always give you a smile. The rooms are cosy but perfect. We were only there 3 nights. I can understand any longer there is limited space to hang clothes etc. the mini bar prices are the same as 7/11 which was perfect. Clean towels every day and the room made up. Breakfast was fab with your choice of egg and proper machine coffee and then choice of pastries etc. if anything was finished you just had to ask. Our balcony had a swing which was absolutely perfect with great outdoor space. There is a jacuzzi, we didn’t use it but it seemed to be busy as the sun was going down people enjoying it. The private loungers on the beach are very comfortable and you see the staff sweeping the area several times during the day. The area is perfect right on the sea front and you get a couple of hours shade from the large tree. The area is nice and quiet away from all the crazy phi phi parties but a short distance should that take your fancy. Our ferry to arrive didn’t tie in with the bell hot service but it did on departure and that was excellent to save us lugging the cases. The bathroom is technically outside. Abit odd and I was constantly worried about what creatures may be joining me but eventually it became fun and enjoyable obviously it’s totally private and secure. The staff always seem to be cleaning the area. They are obviously proud of their hotel and land and rightly so it’s beautiful and very well maintained. The little kid on his bike is adorable I assume one of the staffs but he was very well behaved and very polite and always said hello/bye and waved & smiled -a credit to his parents. Perfect location perfection hotel we most certainly will recommend and return

The smell outside of the room around the hotel is very unpleasant. Room is very small, nowhere to hang or put clothes. But the shower is so bad, never saw anything like that…everything is old, rusted. Breakfast items don not look fresh… I was scared to eat most of them. The location is excellent and has many potentials but for now it’s a waste of time and money. Overall, I hell in love with the phi phi island.

Lovely hotel, perfect location. Included breaky was delicious and lunch was reasonably priced and good quality. There was a foul smell in the bathroom but the island does struggle with water waste so I guess this can’t be helped sometimes.

Stayed for 3N. Booked directly with them for Grand View room. Very very relaxing & idyllic stay. Very comfortable bed & pillows. Good breakfast. Cramped shower area. You can get coke/beer/water from mini bar in your room for same price as 7-11. Niice. Place gives a +ve vibe. Will definitely stay here once we are back.

Everything was perfect. The residence is near to the city center but it is calm place because ist the last residence on beach. Service is perfect also room was clean ( ground room with see view). Breakfast was excellent. Evening. You cam also enjoy jacuzzi.

We stayed at Mama Beach in October 2023. The view out onto the bay is amazing and it’s far enough from the town to avoid a lot of hustle and bustle from the other tourists. The weather was excellent, no rain for the 3 days we were there. Mama Beach Residence is a brisk 10 minute walk to the town at Tonsai Beach. You will past numerous boatmen, bars and restaurants and souvenir shops. The staff were very helpful and spoke English well enough to be able to easily communicate. The porters will collect you and your bags from Tonsai Pier and take them down also when you leave. There seemed to be a security guard that sat at the front each night too which made us feel safe, even though the island alone is incredibly safe. The local restaurant is good for a small breakfast and there is a bar over looking the sea with private sun beds and swimming area. The hotel also had a nice but shallow pool to relax in if you don’t want to go in the sea. The only downside was that we were on the ground and the people above us were extremely loud, thumping their feet while walking around though that’s the not the fault of the hotel. The bathroom area was a small drawback as the retaining wall surrounding the shower was small meaning it was impossible to shower without getting water everywhere in the bathroom but again, not a big issue. Will definitely recommend to friends or family travelling to Koh Phi Phi
