I stayed at the renaissance for a business trip. For which my company has not only used this hotel for lodging accommodations for all of our employees from around the globe but has also rented their facilities for company events.
During this stay, I needed a late check out due to my transportation arrangements and schedule. When I phoned the front desk, not only was I greeted as though my stay had not cost me $1200.00 USD but rather some cheap hotel and was told that my floor and another floor were not allowed a late check out. I wasn’t even asked if I could be accommodated in any other manner. Which, if I had been asked, the hotel holding my luggage would have sufficed. I asked for a manager and was told to call in the morning. I didn’t have time to visit the front desk in the morning as I decided to lug around my bags into my office instead and all the while having to rearranged for my transportation, previously arranged to pick me up from a different address.
After this experience, I will share with our events coordinator so she can inquire how everyone’s stay was and consider changing to a different hotel.
When traveling for business, I don’t usually leave things to chance because I can’t. This was very inconvenient as during these specific trips, we don’t have time for delays. I am extremely disappointed in the service I received, this having been my 3rd stay with the Renaissance Hotel.
