H10 Lanzarote Princess

This is not a4 star hotel, more 3. Needs serious updating and refurbishing, service is slow, we ended up setting our own table most meals times. Food is passable although I am fussy and expected a better quality given its 4 star rating. Pool area was good, room was pleasant enough and kept well by the cleaner although the bed wasn’t changed until the penultimate day of our 10 holiday, think there was training going on. Air conditioning was noisy but didn’t need to use it, it would be different in July and August though, a glass light fitting dropped out and smashed onto the balcony and chair, thankfully no one was sitting in it!! The beds were hard and uncomfortable but they put a topper on when requested. The entertainment is ok but I don’t understand why they have 2 lots on the same evening, also the Papagayo lounge bar/entertainment hall needs a serious upgrade. Apparently there was a gym, I never saw this, which is annoying because I would have used it, I was going to suggest a gym, perhaps they should make it more obvious where it is. The location is great. Having said the above I would consider returning on a b&b basis purely for location and pool. The staff are very pleasant and helpful, although in some areas slow, but everyone is trying their very best.

The H10 Lanzarote Princess is well situated in the picturesque town of Playa Blanca on the south of the island. The location could only be improved by transplanting it across the road just that bit closer to the beach. But that would be being picky. The LP enjoys a fine aspect and is ideally situated for exploring the locality. This is a very comfortable place to stay, it is clean and bright, well spread out with lovely well maintained gardens around the grounds in general and the pool area. There are plenty of sunbeds poolside. This does not, sadly, deter those among us who feel the need to be up at the crack of dawn to place their towels on loungers, before taking up occupancy several hours later. Such is life, what can you do? Regarding food at the LP, I think to be fair you also have to be realistic. This IS mass catering. All food (aside from an Italian Restaurant and a Japanese Restaurant within the LP) is self service buffet style. There is no shortage of food and many choices are available. This can lead to having a right concoction of foods that have no business being together on the same plate - it's your choice! We were happy. Breakfast being our favourite meal of the day. We slept well. Couldn't hear a peep from our neighbouring rooms. We stayed in room 1064 with a balcony view over the Cactus Restaurant and pool area. The room was spacious, having TV, coffee / tea making facility, phone, and safe for valuables. The staff are friendly and efficient, they are worked hard at mealtimes which can be busy at peak times. Our only mistake? We regret not staying longer. Wish we had 10 days or even two weeks. Thoroughly recommend the H10 Lanzarote Princess

Have stayed at the H10 Lanzarote Princess many times. Never disappoints, Staff, Food, Rooms, all fab. The hotel is going through some upgrades, but that did not spoil the stay. Staff fulfils all your requests, food is buffet and there is a wide choice to choose from. Rooms are large, beds are comfortable, bathrooms are big with all facilities. There is top end entertainment over two bars every night, so if you are happy staying in, there is no need to explore all the restaurant bars' music venues, but that would be a mistake. Playa Blanca has loads to offer, and the hotel is close enough to walk to all amenities. If you are looking for a hotel for your partner or with the kids, this is the hotel for you.

We love this hotel, had everything we needed for 2 adults and 6 and 3 year old, great fun, only down side is the outside pools were too cold for my little ones so perhaps they could consider heating them until the end of May. The kids club staff are particularly great - Tanit, Hugo, Cris and Bence all made it lots of fun for the children. Food really nice and very friendly staff, great location. Breakfast & lunch was always nice if you arrive early enough or else its chaos. We will definitely be back next May if they warm the pools up!!

Staff excellent and extremely friendly and helpful from arrival to departure. They can't be faulted. For our taste there was too much fish on menu. This is personal to us. Food as always well cooked and presented. Always plenty of space and beds around the pool areas. Gardens always well kept.

Excellent location near Playa Dorado and the shops and bars of Playa Blanca. There was a great choice of delicious food, particularly the bread, in the main restaurant for breakfast and dinner with friendly helpful staff. The housekeeping team were one of the most efficient I have ever experienced and kept our room immaculate. Plenty of sun beds around the pools and the Cactus Bar makes great salads for lunch. Would definite recommend staying here.

We embarked on a 10-night stay, and I'll begin with the positives before addressing the negatives. The location is fantastic; the beach and most bars and restaurants are just a short walk away—an essential detail to note. If you're not inclined towards icy waters like Wim Hof, the heated indoor pool is excellent, especially for families. There's also a pleasant sun terraced area. Unfortunately, that's where the positives end. If you've opted for all-inclusive, my condolences, as the food quality was questionable. I'd equate the evening meal to something from a 3-star, not a 4-star establishment. Breakfast was passable, but nothing extravagant, typical of a breakfast buffet. However, if you're like me and appreciate a good cup of tea or coffee, bring your own. Additionally, if you enjoy the possibility of contracting avian flu with your meal, then this is the place for you. Birds were frequently seen eating the food, yet the staff appeared indifferent. One server, whom I'll refer to as Jimmy, with his pencil mustache, even feigned a lack of English comprehension when we informed him of a bird on the cake. Although the following day, he conversed with many others perfectly well. The table clearing was also sluggish, but I don't entirely blame the staff; they seemed preoccupied with upselling drinks rather than attending to their duties, a management issue, in my opinion. Most of the staff were pleasant, albeit visibly overworked. Moreover, during lunch and dinner, the water and coffee machines were inexplicably shut off—a rather penny-pinching move for a supposed 4-star establishment, especially considering the price paid for the stay. For young families, the timing of meals and entertainment was inconvenient. Dinners at 13:00 and evening meals at 19:00 didn't align well with the needs of toddlers, and the kids' entertainment at 20:00 felt similarly misjudged. The main kids' pool was uncomfortably cold as it was linked with the main pool, despite the presence of an alternate indoor pool. Furthermore, the lifeguard was displeased when I went down the slide with my 18-month-old daughter, a reaction I found excessive. The rooms were satisfactory with no major complaints, although bird droppings on our balcony were a recurring issue, requiring cleaning every other day. In summary, while the location was excellent, the overall experience felt more like a 3 to 3.5-star quality. Considering the price paid, I had expected better.

This is 4th holiday here. We absolutely love the hotel and the location. The indoor pool and outdoor pool are very well maintained. The Daisy club disco is always a lot of fun for our 7 year old and 4 year old. Also the children love going to the Daisy mini club in the day, doing arts and crafts and games. Tanit who runs the mini club is lovely with the children and she really deserves a special mention for the awesome job she does. The beach is only a few minutes walk and the snorkeling is very good there. Thank you H10 Lanzarote Princess.

It started with the transfer bus breaking down at the airport and delayed our arrival at the hotel. When we eventually got checked in at the hotel we were allocated room 084 and when we entered the room and switched the lights on we discovered a large cockroach running across the bed, making its way to the sofa. This totally freaked my wife out and she refused to stay in the room. I went to the reception desk and asked him to assign us a another room. When he asked my reasons for the request he seemed a bit dismissive, until I showed him the picture. We were eventually allocated a room on the third floor, 302, nearly 5 hours after we had landed and we both fell into bed quite exhausted. When we got up the next day we very disappointed to look out of our balcony to see that we had been allocated a room that overlooked the rear of the hotels kitchens and the dustbin area. This is not what we envisaged when we booked our holiday back in January. If we had been told that we could be allocated this sort of room we would definitely NOT have booked this hotel. The hotel management did send us two complimentary bottles of water and 4 chocolates for our inconvenience of having to change rooms. We were aware that the food that was going to be supplied would be buffet style, but we assumed that it would be hot. There did not seem to be any sort of co-ordination with the staff preparing the food. Some of the meat/fish was cooked in front of as to your liking, but the queues were long for this option. When you eventually got your meat you had to then go to another area to get potatoes/veg etc and invariably when you got there the containers were empty!! Several times I asked some the staff in suits to look into this issue and they went off to investigate and I never saw them again. By the end of the first week of our holiday we decided that we would visit the restaurant to see what food was on offer that night and if it was not to our liking we went out to local restaurants where we could get good hot food. The room we were in, looked very tired and worn out and state of the bathroom we had, left a lot to be desired with the grouting being stained and what looked like some one had tried unsuccessfully to cover the stains up. The shower head looked like it had never been cleaned and the water was struggling to get through the holes. The night before we came home I had been on our balcony reading a book and went into our room to get ready to go for dinner when the glass night light cover fell down and smashed onto the tiled flooring smashing into hundreds of pieces. The people in the next room came round as they had heard a large bang and thought we had had an accident. We managed to get a passing member of staff into to look into the issue and she swept up most of the glass. An hour later no one had come to our room so I went to the reception to ask what they intended to do about the light falling down and they did not seem to know what had gone on.
