There were a lot of great things about Porto Old Town, like the location. It's within walking distance to shops, restaurants, cafes, Bolhao market, Sao Bento train station, the riverfront, and more. It was also spacious, with a sleeping area separate from the dining and relaxing area, and a little kitchenette. Bathroom and kitchen had all we needed. The A/C worked well, too. Our only complaint was the noise. While we couldn't hear our neighbors (upstairs, downstairs, or to the side of us), we could hear a lot of the outside noise, including one particularly loud group of, I don't know, twenty-somethings, shouting at each other (or seemingly at one guy, like a girl was breaking up with her boyfriend, and all their friends on both sides were mad about it) at, like, 1 or 2 a.m. Not ideal. With more sound-proof windows, this would easily be five stars.
