Castello Tafuri

Super location close to the southern most point on Sicily. Hotel is comfortable and very smart. Great views from the restaurant and main veranda. Views from room veranda was however more limited due to the castellations on the high walls. Breakfast buffet was very good and the evening restaurant was good but not great

Castello Tafuri seats on a breathtaking location overlooking the little island of Capo Passero.The large suites are perfect for a family trip.The proximity of the gorgeous swimming pool to the beautiful rocky cliffs below the castle,creates a continuity with the sea and a perfect formula to enjoy this amazing tract of sicilian coast. Great place for an apertivo too.

English An old castle in the southernmost part of Europe and Italy, renovated and converted into a hotel six years ago by the Tafuri family. It only operates during the summer. The building is spectacular. Very beautiful. The suites are very comfortable. The sea view is breathtaking. There is a lovely, large pool and paths to walk down to the sea over the rocks, although the hotel does not offer a beach, and there is no sand. Good breakfast. While the hotel is easy to spot from the road, it is very difficult to find the streets to reach it, and there is no signage. Additionally, to open the entrance gate, a code is required, and it is best to request it by phone in advance. As the hotel operates only six months a year, the staff lacks experience, has many doubts, and provides few answers. Finally, something that caught my attention is that there is a €50 penalty for checking in after 11 PM, which is not mentioned on their website when making a reservation. Italiano Un vecchio castello nel punto più meridionale d'Europa e d'Italia, ristrutturato e convertito in hotel sei anni fa dalla famiglia Tafuri. Funziona solo durante l'estate. L'edificio è spettacolare. Molto bello. Le suite sono molto comode. La vista sul mare è mozzafiato. C'è una bella piscina ampia e sentieri per scendere al mare tra le rocce, anche se l'hotel non offre una spiaggia e non c'è sabbia. Prima Colazione completa. Anche se l'hotel è facilmente visibile dalla strada, è molto difficile trovare le vie per raggiungerlo e manca di segnaletica. Inoltre, per aprire il cancello d'ingresso è necessario un codice ed è meglio richiederlo telefonicamente in anticipo. Essendo un hotel che apre solo sei mesi all'anno, il personale manca di esperienza, ha molti dubbi e fornisce poche risposte. Infine, qualcosa che mi ha colpito è che c'è una penalità di €50 per il check-in dopo le 23:00, che non è menzionata sul loro sito web al momento della prenotazione.

Excellent hotel with great clean rooms. Location was superb and easy private parking. We stayed for 2 nights and enjoyed every minute of it. It is definitely not a place for any parents to bring any children. The adults that come here do not want babies crying or toddlers running amuck. So those with any children under age of 16 go elsewhere. Tranquillity rules here.

Castello Tafuri was one of our trip's surprise hits. I had just scheduled us for a brief stop there (a wedding prevented us from booking there when we wanted to), but it quickly became obvious Tafuri deserved more time. We had breakfast there (call ahead and ask about having breakfast, if you can't stay there) and had a wonderful morning. Afterward, we walked along the shore, getting shots of the castle and the sea. The staff there is friendly, helpful, and speaks English. I very much hope to go back someday and stay there properly.

We were staying in Noto and a friend recommended that we drive out to Castello Tafuri for a drink. So glad we did! Had drinks on the terrace (did not stay at the hotel, though wish we had!). What a beautiful view of the sea! Had excellent negronis which came with a whole tray of snacks. Although the sun sets behind you, it was a spectacular way to unwind. Book ahead because you cannot enter the gated property unless you have a reservation.
