Richard, living in Berlin, Germany, 64 years old. I do not recommend this aging hotel. It is no more than a three star or even less hotel. The hotel website and other internet sites have photos of this hotel and the grounds which are a number of years old and no longer actual. The hotel and grounds require a lot of maintenance. BEWARE! I was with my wife from June 26th thru July 13th (17 days) in the superior room 431 oceanview with breakfast and evening dinner included. The room had one armchair with a footstoll, a mini refrigerator, and a safe. Only a small three drawer chest for clothes in the closet. On the balcony was a small wooden table with two wooden chairs. The view from the balcony was really nice. No real sunset. The sun goes down hidden. The saltwater swimming pool was open for daily visitors each day with different colored armbands. Most of the daily visitors were locals with children and music boxes on the pool. LOUD! There were understandably very few tourist guests. There was( only between three and six umbrellas for everyone available. The pool patio is in the need of desperate repair. The breakfast buffet in the hotel Restaurant Prainha was good. Somedays not everything was available. Many locals and often LOUD! The hotel did not provide a dinner buffet in the hotel Restaurant Prainha. Hotel guests with the dinner included were given in the hotel Pamorama Bar a menu to select one from the three main dishes, a soup or salad, and a dessert. The meal was almost always good except a couple of times it was not so good. Other guests could order a la carte. The hotel had many evenings private events at the hotel Snack/Pool Bar. The location is good: walking distance 2 minutes to Prainha Beach, 8 minutes to Quebra Canela Beach, 10 minutes to a bank or car rental, 15 minutes to a beverage and food store, and 30 minutes to the "Plateau". The service and friendliness were at times good and at other times not so good.
