Friendly service, spacious room, very private, beautiful garden, very nice neighborhood. Highly recommended.

Probably the worst night of my existence. I had previously booked for myself on the weekend of the 7th - 8th of December and I loved the place so much and felt safe with literally cctv everywhere ( or I thought) . So I booked for us again for the 14th -15th , I was checked in room 8 and the night went on at around 3: 30 we were sleeping until we heard something fall on the floor to wake up to someone in the room with us, we tried running after them but they just disappeared within the guesthouse. This person stole a phone that was on the side table, a laptop and a toiletry bag that had variables. We called the reception twice at some point they told me to come there, how do I come there when some had just violated my everything. Eventually when they came they just simply looked around with they ADT security and nothing. We asked about the CCTV cameras that's are literally everywhere there is one by the tree next to the door facing the pool but apperantly all the cctv are just for show they are all not working. We tried to tell them that the person was in the yard as they simply just disappeared in the yard with easy. The police picked up our external drive by the packing lot while they were investigating they other rooms that were broken in too. The guesthouse offered nothing literally they promised to share the street ADT footage of the street to see if anyone went in or out they didn't i had to call them and find out only to be told they was noone going in and out. The only thing the guesthouse has to offer is "we can only let the investigator do what they need to do, i will call with any update"( mind you i had to call them for everything). The guesthouse knew they was something wrong with they door as when I checked the lady told me to not worry but the previous guest had a problem with locking the door, the guesthouse knew they cameras were just sitting ducks but they still welcome guests to literally the lions den!!! They didn't check other guests or alerted other guest of the incident nothing we were on our own. I literally paid R765 for trauma and lossing all variables that we use for work. They said that they can't take any responsibility if they things were not "personally insuranced". I guess before you visit the place make sure your life is insured.

We thought booking a guesthouse in Brooklyn would lead to a comfortable bed, a quiet neighborhood, and safety. The safety was about all we got. From early morning we were bombarded with workers screaming to one another around the property. The bed we slept in is years old and dead. There was but 1 hanger. We were staying for a couple of days. We were served with 1 set of towels and had to ask for more. It's not what we expected at all, sorry to say. Yes, the gardens are lush but old. Nothing is fresh. It had the look of a bygone era. To some people, this will appeal to. To us, it looked neglected.

Beautiful garden. Friendly people. Big beautiful rooms. The restaurant is slow, but the food is good. To find parking can be a challenge. Their are corners that is not to need with some building stuff. But overall beautiful and awesome paintings on walls.

A surprising tranqual setting within city surroundings. Easy access to Pretoria and its offerings. The gardens provide for lush, peaceful and private tarriances around historic buildings. The place and setting will not disappoint.

Good service, unique place. Room needs attention, though. Broken, skew standing-lamp, curtains loose from rail (room 35). It is also not so nice having to listen to Bon Jovi from 07:00 till 21:00. The outside terrain is great, but needs attention - is there a groundsman?
