My husband and I have been vacationing at Punta Cana several times for the last few years, this time we decided to give Puerto Plata Senator resort a try.
The best part of the resort was their staff, they were very friendly and helped as much as they could.
We found a few issues:
-It was very difficult to get a reservation for dinner at the restaurants at the hotel, we were able to get a reservation the last night we were there, and we were very surprised since the restaurant was mostly empty when we were there.
-We had to wake up at 7am every morning to make sure we would get chairs by the beach or pool, otherwise we would have had to wait until 4pm when most people were leaving the pool or beach to be able to to use the chairs.
-There are no non-smoking areas in the property, several guests smoked and it was at any area of the hotel.
-Room didn't have cable TV, I believe they had antennas that would get signal so there were basically only 3 channels that we could watched.
-There were not many activities to do inside the resort, aside from the nightly show; however there wasn't enough room to sit down and once again there were several smokers at the amphitheater.
-They were very persistent on joining the VIP Club brunch which apparently is a meeting to promote their time share program.
We did try to make the best of our trip but I do not believe we will be coming back to this resort.
