Mako 54

Mako 54 was amazing. Herlinda was so accommodating to our arrival time. She met us, made sure we completely understood how access to the apar**ents worked and was always available if we needed anything. We mistakenly left our laptop behind, she’s notified us before we realized it was left behind. We arranged it to be picked up the next day by ours parents without any problems. We recommend this place if you’re looking for a clean, modern and safe place! We will be back!

We loved this property, it’s very elegantly decorated and secure. The rooftop view is incredible and the pool is lovely. The view from our room (3b) is also lovely with 2 balconies to boast. We experienced some discomfort with the neighborhood barking dogs who barked through the night a couple nights. My suggestion would be bring ear plugs. Additionally the wifi service was not good in our room. Do not count on it if you need to work. Herlinda was lovely and very helpful. The neighborhood was safe and had a lot of charm. We enjoyed walking to the near by gym “Total gym” and it’s adjacent coffee shop “Coffit” in the mornings.

I really wanted to love this hotel but I experienced many inconveniences of all sizes during my stay here. The major inconveniences were not necessarily the hotel’s fault but the nature of staying in this particular area. The staff were pretty good and was even proactive about solving an issue before I even brought it up - one of the pillows was not dried properly when I checked in and smelled mildewy. We did our best with the language barrier using Google Translate. But they didn’t bring a new one back. The decor is really nice and beautiful as pictured. The suite looked very clean but at some parts didn’t feel it (found small curly hairs on the top blanket while I have longer straight hair). One night I found a big live cockroach on the carpet. I didn’t have food out but there was food in the garbage which has no lid. I know not to expect perfection in Vallarta, and cockroaches happen even in nice hotels, but usually they are smaller and already dead. This was larger even than the ones I saw in the street. One morning the neighborhood had water turned off until afternoon. Then my last night was Saturday night, and so the next door house was having a party with a full sound system with an MC and the hotel has no soundproofing at all. I knew I could not sleep but I know I’m the tourist in this culture so I simply moved to a hotel in Las Concha Chinas where it’s dead quiet to finally get a good night’s sleep. During weekday nights it’s not too bad for noise.

Herlinda made our stay very comfortable and was able to help us with setting up transportation to numerous places.

It's clear that every element was designed with guests' relaxation and satisfaction in mind. However, what truly made my stay memorable was the warm hospitality extended by the host. Their friendliness and accommodating nature genuinely made me feel welcomed. They were always ready to assist, making sure my stay was as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.
