Dreams Onyx Resort & Spa - All Inclusive

Dreams Onyx was a beautiful resort with such wonderful workers. The entertainment was phenomenal. The food was good and well kept. The arcade part became our favorite thanks to Karin Paola. The bartender. Karina is such a sweet person. She engaged with us, asked us what we like and even made us personalized drinks. I appreciate the warm welcome from Karina in the arcade. Thank you Dreams Onyx for a wonderful stay!

The staff here were phenomenal. However I didn’t really enjoy the beaches because of all the seaweed. Also I had the jr swim up king and it was infested with ants and roaches. I was there from the 1st-6th. After my fourth day there they finally upgraded my room. I spent too much money to be having to deal with roaches. I don’t know if I’d visit here again.

Amazing place, if you get preferred club, ask for Zorro. He is amazing and will go out of his way to make you happy. There is not a single thing I can say bad about this resort. You will need an excursion if you want to snorkel. The waves are fun but it makes the water murky. I highly recommend this resort.

My family of 11 went to this Amazing resort last week. We were in the Preferred building and had Rafael as our butler. He was a true professional and made our vacation and my parents 50th anniversary an experience of a lifetime. Alejandro, Jean, Javier at preferred pool bar are truly the best. Angel always made sure we had a great spot by the preferred pool and that we had everything we needed. Rafael, the server at the preferred buffet always went above and beyond. Marco annd Rivera ant the water park pool bar were always so much fun!! Amstar was awesome for transportation to and from the airport and we did two excursions. Dolphin Explorer and Reef Explorer. Both I would highly recommend. Seapro at the resort made my husbands vacation. He went scuba diving twice with them. Ronnie, Fabio, Wilson and Lloyd were the Best. The resort is huge but have a ton of golf carts that will take you anywhere you want to go. Restaurants were great, ate till we couldn’t breathe. Our family would definitely go back, and I would definitely recommend getting Rafael as your butler, we cried when we left he was the BEST!!! Also as a side note about 15 minutes down the beach is Tropical Treasures an absolute diamond in the rough, massage on the beach over looking the ocean is an experience you don’t want to miss.

Book this resort with NO hesitation!! What an amazing week we had at this resort! First off a huge thank you to the amazing staff on this resort! The food, amenities and rooms were all perfect, we had zero complaints. The beach was beautiful, there were always chairs and service on the beach. Loved that they had a snack bar close to the beach and two full bars! Service was always awesome, the beach was cleaned daily which we very much appreciated. Good job with the food selections! Best part you don't need reservations for the amazing al a carte restaurants, and they have an amazing waterpark with slides for all ages and a great lazy river. The staff are always cleaning!! No silly towel cards and things that stress you out! Lots of great food to chose from and the fruit was delicious. I recommend this resort , for the pickiest of people, you will love the Dreams! Hello - Sharing our recent experience. Enjoyed our visit and would return! We are a couple in our mid-40s from Ohio, USA. We were at Dreams Onyx April 6th-13th, 2024. Been to the DR several times, including one previous stay at Dreams Onyx and another at Breathless. Mike Fisher Transfers took us to and from airport in a private van. They were fantastic. First time using them and we’ll use them again in the future. Ride between airport and resort takes about 40 minutes. We had an early flight and arrived to the resort at about noon. Check in was efficient - 20 minutes total including waiting for the person ahead of us - in Preferred Club lounge just off the front lobby. This lounge has restrooms, a small buffet of snacks, and bar with bartender. As expected, our room was not yet ready. Staff told us how to access lunch and to return at 3:00. I asked if there was a place to change into the swimsuits we’d brought in carry-on bags. Staff told us to ask one of the luggage guys for a hospitality room. The luggage guy offered that we could get anything we needed out of our checked bags and then walked us out the front doors and around the corner. He unlocked the hospitality room area. It was nice! The hallway we entered had 3 or 4 separate, sparkling clean, locking, full bathrooms with showers, towels, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. I’m so glad we asked about this! Only minor complaint was that the A/C didn’t seem to be running in that area. We hit up CoCo Cafe for snacks and coffee drinks and then headed to the preferred club (PC) adults only (AO) pool. All chairs appeared to be taken, but the pool concierge approached us and offered to help us find a spot. He moved towels from chairs that were no longer being used and set us up with towels. A server stopped by to take drink orders. All through our visit, every staff member at this pool was so friendly, kind, and helpful! Shout out to Jancey, Javier, Innoel, Nellis! Throughout our stay, there were plenty of towels available at the towel station next to the PC AO pool. The pool concierge was happy to help people find a spot, or make a spot if needed. After the first day, we didn’t camp on pool loungers; our patio and bali bed were so close to that pool, we just walked out and hopped in. When we returned to the check-in area a bit after 3:00, our room was ready and butler took us to our room. We had a preferred club jr. suite king private pool room. Love these rooms! Our room was clean and the pool was gorgeous! We chose April travel dates in hopes of a warmer private pool after finding it chilly during our December previous visit. Pool was a comfortable temp. We were in the corner and it seemed like our pool got more sun than some others. Another couple told us at dinner that their private pool was too chilly to enjoy. This was my first time in Dominican Republic, and I absolutely loved it! Overall, this resort was really great, in regard to food options, beaches, resort aesthetic, friendly staff, and fun options during the day and night. Whether it was raining or sunny, the entertainment team always had activities ready to entertain, such as pool, ping pong, beach olympics, bingo, movies in the theatre, and so on. Never once was I hungry as there were so many options for food, and all food was amazing! The beach bar was great, as well as carnival buffet. For the el a carte’s, the blue water grill has flank steak that is to die for.. I love a medium rare-rare thick steak, and to my surprise, this was exactly that, I highly highly recommend it, and you can ask for a baked potato on the side! The service at the French restaurant was superb, I wish I could remember our waiters name because he was just amazing. The hibachi place was yummy, but be warned that if you get a private room, it is possibly the fire alarm will be going off the whole.. time.. The rooms were very clean and super nice, I recommend asking for the newer side as there is a newer and older set of rooms, oh and the water slides are so so fun, highly recommend! In terms of the staff members that really made our stay amazing, Dr. Grey and Roche from the entertainment team were both so welcoming, friendly, funny, and ultimately improved our trip so so much. If it weren’t for them, I guarantee you my family would not have been on the dance floor for hours every night, and participating in beach olympics, yet they sought us out everyday, as a friend would do. Kary was such a great worker at the beach constantly keeping an eye on our drink levels, always making sure they were full while also creating such great conversation, she was amazing. All in all, highly recommend!!

I stayed here with my girlfriend and it was our first time visiting the DR and we are so glad we chose dreams onyx. The hotel was lovely and clean, the restaurants all nice and buffet had a great variety. The pool was huge and had plenty going on every day with the entertainment team who were great fun. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful especially our new friend Abrahan (the man in the photo) at the sand bar, who tended to our every request without hesitation and was an amazing person as well as an all round pleasure to meet thank you for making our holiday very special
