Coral Level at Iberostar Selection Holguín

This is our first time in Cuba and our first time at an all-inclusive resort. So, we really have no point of comparison to budget whether the Coral was good or not. But here is a list of things we did and did not love: Good: - Our room was quite nice. Lots of space, big bathroom, big TV.  - A/C in the room was excellent. Always felt cool and was easy to adjust colder and warmer. - Plenty of hot water in the shower. - Comfortable bed. - Room was cleaned well each day. - All the staff at the resort are very friendly. - A fairly wide assortment of food choices.  - The resort is quiet. We never felt overwhelmed with noise or had trouble sleeping.- Everything seemed quite clean. - 2 nice beach areas in the resort. - 2 nice pools. - Decent little fitness center- 5 different themed restaurants, a buffet, and a 24-hour snack bar. - A couple of billiard tables, multiple bars, a cigar smoking room, a little dance club, a currency exchange spot, a small store for sunscreen/sandles/toiletries/etc. - There is a doctor on site (Although I can't authoritatively say if he was an actual doctor or not) Not As Good: - When we first got to the resort the entire place did not have water. But, no one told us this. We just struggled for a while trying to figure out how to use the water. - It felt difficult to figure out how everything worked. It would make sense to have some paperwork with all the resort details. But instead we had to continually ask questions and figure things out as we went.  - Each day they put bottles of filtered water and 2 beers in your fridge. We don't drink and asked if cans of soda could be provided instead. They said yes, but this did not ever occur. - The bottles of filtered water they provide has a overpowering musty taste.  - My wife got mild food poisoning from something on the 3rd day. - None of the food was really great. If you go to the buffet you will eventually find the food you like the best, but even that is just OK. The ice cream is OK, but otherwise, the desserts are very underwhelming. - I was aware going in that the food in Cuban resorts is not their best quality, but I was hoping for really good fruit. Unfortunately, this was not the case. There was fresh pineapple, papaya, and bananas, but the rest all came from a can. - The wifi is real bad. It constantly disconnects and even when it stays connected, it is dreadfully slow.  - Basketball and tennis courts are in pretty rough shape. - There are no cities or towns close to the resort. So, if you want to see other things there is a 20-60 minute drive to get anywhere.

Just got back from a wonderful vacation at Iberostar Coral Holguín. Highly recommend this resort for adults only. The rooms are beautiful and very clean. We were lucky to get a room with an outdoor shower and thoroughly enjoyed bathing in the warm sunshine and under the stars at night. A definite must try if available. The maids and mini bar staff are attentive and will bend over backwards to help make you happy. Our maid Dayne was especially friendly and made cute animals out of our bedding each day. Our butlers Yarin and Augusto checked in with us daily and took care of all our needs and requests. The wait staff are second to none and quite a few of them exceeded expectations. In the morning our favourite waitress Maria always remembered our drink orders and the fact that I liked a glass of ice on the side for my chocolate milk. She always greeted us with a smile and made the start to our day special. Janisbella and Yasmine were also phenomenal and we shared many laughs and jokes during our meals. Jacqueline at the front desk became a fast friend who always went out of her way for us with our many questions and requests. My friend and I had the pleasure of getting a massage from Jamelia and Rogerio and it was the best 90 minutes I have ever spent. We also had an absolute blast with some of the bar staff. Alexander, Julio, Hector, William and the very beautiful Dayana were super fun, attentive and personable and made great tasting drinks. Even the lifeguard (her name eludes me) was great. I had many interesting conversations with her about her competitions and training. Lovely woman! Last but certainly not least was Carlos, the entertainment coordinator. Carlos is the most genuine, kind hearted, fun loving, hard working man I have ever met. We spent many hours with Carlos each day playing volleyball, football, doing aqua fit, dancing and just having a great time. Carlos is a huge asset to Iberostar and should be commended on his dedication to providing the guests with a wonderful experience. Iberostar is a wonderful, relaxing, fun resort with exceptional staff and I highly recommend staying there!

Beautiful hotel. Staff were amazing at the pool bar. Carlos, Diana, Alexander are amazing! Would recommend this hotel. Amazing staff!. The beach was amazing. Beautiful blue water and nice clean sand. We did the catamaran one day and that was very nice.

Beach is beautiful! Service is great. Night life could be improved. Alot of families and children! Food is hit or miss!! Dayna, Alexander and Carlos are great!

This is my first time at the Coral Level here and it was an amazing experiencing. One of my favourite parts of my day was being by the pool with Carlos, he was so inviting and made out time so fun! He always provided very fun activities for us including volleyball and dancing. His music was also amazing. The facilities are amazing here. All the staff is extremely welcoming, friendly and they always ensure you have everything you need!

This is my first my time in Cuba, and it has been one of the best experiences I have had, Carlos has made our experience by the pool inviting, interactive and overall an absolute pleasure. All the staff have been super kind, respectful and welcoming.

Food was great, carlos the entertainer was awesome, played the guitar for us and did activities. First all inclusive and I was impressed. Weather was great, staff was amazing would definitely come back again. Drinks were phenomenal, pool was great.

The people make the difference. 2nd visit to this location and will go gain. The staff are very warm and accomodating. From Junior, Larisa and others to the quartet and the Corals very own superstar, Carlos and his enthusiasm, guitar/singing and desire to entertain. Over all service was great. Food was very good. I will continue to recommend this resort to family and friends

This month I decided to come with my husband to visit Iberoestar Coral Holguín. It was a beautiful vacation, very nice and clean beaches, delicious food and wonderful staff. I want to thank Carlitos the entertainer for his beautiful activities in the pool, dance classes, yoga ,aquafitness, it was a beautiful vacation and I hope to return soon
