The holy place Rameswaram is one of the twelve Jyothirlingas of India. Out of all the twelve Jyothirlingas Rameswaram temple is biggest. In Hindu mythology, it is compulsory for every Hindu to take a pilgrimage to Kashi and Rameswaram. The Chardham Yatra of India spread in four directions like Badrinath, Dwaraka, Puri-Jaganath and Rameswaram. Rameswaram is at the southern part of India. When Lord SriRam killed Ravana, he attained the sin of Brahma Hatya Dosham. As advised by Sage Augustya Maharishi, Lord SriRam decided to offer a Pooja to Lord Shiva at Rameswaram. Lord SriRam has to offer Pooja to Lord Shiva because Ravana was ardent follower of Lord Shiva. To get rid of he Brahma Hatya Dosham it is mandatory to worship the Shiva. Mata Sita, Lord Srirams wife surmounted a shivalingam made out of sand on the land and offered pooja to the lingam. By this lord Sriram got rid of the sin of Brahma hatya. The culture here is that the pilgrims must first have bath in Agni theertham sea(Bay of Bengal) and then have a bath at the 22 wells located in the temple premises. The pilgrims who bring the holy Ganga water from Kashi will be doing a abishekam to the Rameswaram lingam. Sri Gurusidhaswamy from Karnataka has established a math in this holy place to serve Veerashaiva Lingayat devotes from all over India. Mr. Guru Sidhaswamy M.A, son of Sathalinga Sharma the fourth generation of Sri Gurusidhaswamy has established a new well designed and furnished Sri Jangamwadi Math Yatri Nivas to cater to the needs of the current generation of pilgrims. The math is located 100 mtr from temple and 1 Km from Railway station. We offer fully airconditioned rooms at reasonable price for pilgrims. i have paid for a one 4 bedroom and the ac was not working tv not working, geaser not working
there was no power backup. The toilet was not cleaned and the room is also in heigine. Overall this hotel is very terrible.

The property was not properly cleaned, toilet flush was not working, toilet door hook was broken, lab-our class bedsheet provided, ac was not working throughout the stay, no drinking water provided, worst behavior by manager and other staff, even after full payment manager sent hotel boy for further payment. Horrible experience, worst stay in my life. No one is recommended to book the property

Worst and pathetic experience at jangamwadi. I would highly recommended not to go for this when anyone visits rameshwaram. Very dirty with bad smell and no basic services are provided. Waste of money and bad trip experience if jangamwadi is selected

Room was small but sufficient for small family. Hotel staff is friendly and helpful. Toilet is clean, but commode rim is broken. There were multiple cockroaches found in the washroom. Fan and ac is having lot of dirts, like it is not cleaned in years. Bed mattress is old and having uneven support.

Terrible hotel. Everything was broken. No geyser. No tv. No handle for bathroom. Running taps. Water clogging in bathroom

Short stay for a day with family. The rooms are not posh but clean and small room. Very close to the temple so good for those traveling on religious trip.

As compared to room rent price room condition was very bad. There is so poor hospitality. There is no bucket and mug in bathroom.

The mutt is located at just 300 mtrs away from the west gopuram (tower) of the temple. The hotel (mutt) does not have any food service. Amenities wise is good. As a walk through, observed 4 rooms (non ac double bed) in the mutt before check in, so i could list out pros and cons as below: pro's:
- located on the main road ( with ease in getting autos round the clock)
- within walkable distance to the temple
- comfortable place to stay for upto 3 people
- easy to book ( as i have done through make my trip) con's:
- poor ventilation in the rooms
- geyser was not working in my room
- few rooms did not have tv and geyser
- difficulty in drying the wet clothes ( one has to use the 2nd floor which has tinted roof to dry the clothes due to which no sunlight falls and clothes cannot be dried naturally)

- very near to rameshwaram temple
- staff was co-operative
- rooms were clean negative points
- rooms were very congested
- felt suffocation when window was closed and when we open window there was bad smell coming from hotel besides
