Royal Oak Ramsden

We stayed for 3 nights at the Royal oak and from the first moment we arrived the staff were so welcoming. Stayed in the attic room which was so cosy and was very in keeping with the 'cotswolds cottage vibes' of beautiful decor and roll top Bath. Stayed during a very hot week but room was cool and comfortable. Breakfast evermorning was tasty also ate one night in the restaurant itself equally as delicious. The royal oak is I a quaint little village but 30 minutes drive from all the bigger villages in the cotswolds.

We stayed for 3 nights in the inn and we loved everything . The food was delicious , the room was clean , cosy and very quirky . A wee glass of delicious port every day was left in our room in a lovely decanter too . The lady in the bar was so friendly, as all the others were too . Overall the Royal Oak is one of the best places i have stayed in , thank.you to all the staff.

Having stayed for a winter break in January, we returned to celebrate our silver wedding anniversary with family and friends. We lunched in the delightful private room. Natasha had created a wonderful flower display, Ayeesha was friendly and professional and nothing was too much trouble. All the food was delicious, but we were particularly touched by the choices for the vegan and vegetarian options. The menu changes daily and the chef had really given a lot of consideration to our requirements. The wines recommended were a perfect compliment to the more traditional Sunday roasts. Thank you Royal Oak for a memorable day, our only sorrow is we no longer live locally otherwise we would be back more often.

Lovely stay in very old building - classic costwold - amazing food - great service and very comfy bed, although room abit in the small side it was very nice with all we needed, a shower cap would of been welcome but I didn’t spoil the stay, ha ha - restaurant was really pretty too

We were given the little cottage in the garden and it was lovely. Great beds, shower robes and tea making facilities with teapot and biscuits. Even a drop of port if you so desired. Delicious breakfast and the staff were delightful. Nothing was too much trouble.

My family really enjoyed the beautiful interiors and sunny garden courtyard. It was special eating in the airy oak extension which made a stunning dining area, or outside in the courtyard, and enjoying the snug in one of the converted outbuildings, with sofas and a heater, with flowers and pottery in every corner. The food was very high quality but the chef was flexible for those with allergies or kids with younger tastes. Friendly and helpful staff, without exception. The beds were very comfortable with crisp sheets and it was a pleasure to spend time in the thoughtfully decorated rooms with beautiful en-suites, each with an emphasis on the 17th century roots of this inn in what seems like an undiscovered gem of a Cotswold village. If you’re booking more than one room for your family, it’s worth asking how far apart they are. Two of us were in the second floor loft room and another in the first floor at the other end of the inn which was fine for us but might not suit everyone.

Fantastic old pub with accommodations! Set in quiet idyllic Cotswolds village. Very attentive staff! Delicious breakfast! The attached photographs speak for themselves! Well worth discovering! Thank you! We will definitely come back ❤️!

This by far the best I have stayed in the Cotswolds great little hamlet The place has an excellent accommodation and the restaurant is second to none We stayed for two nights and eat in the restaurant both nights I have to say the menu is excellent and changing each day I cannot compliment the head chef enough On hearing he is of a young age of 25 he bought many delicious tastes to the table The staff are amazing too it is a credit to this establishment that have made I believe a little gem in the village of Ramsden

Our stay was excellent. We had two rooms (Akeman and Attic) which are up an ancient spiral wooden stair case direct from the pub. They were both clean, well appointed with some nice touches added, including the small bottle of port. The bar and restaurant are very good - great food and excellent service. All the staff were lovely and we were made to feel very welcome. I would highly recommend this pub, and will certainly return too. Thanks to Luke and the team.
