Grand Hotel des Templiers

Charming hotel with very kind and helpful service! Paying for the use of the pool was unusual…it was nice to have a traditional decor of French hospitality! The design of the dining room will probably follow…

We stayed here for one night en route from Switzerland to England. This hotel offers everything you would want for such a stay. Easy to find, on site parking, friendly and helpful reception staff, very comfortable bedroom and a nice breakfast. Plus it is well located in the centre of Reims so lots of opportunity to walk around this beautiful city. We will most definitely stay here again!

How this is 4 stars is beyond me. Multiple times trying to get help at front desk and no one was around. Even went into the kitchen while the one gentleman was cleaning up and he never asked once if I needed help. I booked a single room for 2 nights, which was clean and generally pleasant. But I will stop there because for the price, it was absolutely not worth the value. Thankfully I did not add the breakfast and it was much better to walk into town to a boulangerie for coffee and a croissant. In the room, the shower/tub is a MAJOR step up to get into which for many can be hazardous, the toilet area is TINY and I barely fit in that area. The A/C is OK, not great but the local weather was pleasant while I was there. The room has a regular key with a very large attachment and tassle, thus it was hard to fit into my tiny crossover bag while exploring the town. I did NOT want service in my room but was unable to tell anyone as no one was at the front desk, as I previously mentioned. And I came back and there was definitely someone in the room trying to freshen it up. I paid 175 Euros per night. That room was worth no more than 125 Euros, IMO. Finally, the credit card receipt shows 2 Euro more than the printed receipt!

The safe did not work in our deluxe room. The plumbing needed some adjusting. Next time, we will stay at a hotel with a more central location.

A lovely surprise as you enter this grand old house with a very period feel. Just on the outskirts of the main area it is easily walkable. Rooms are comfortable and very clean. Breakfast is simple and the bar offers champagne by the glass. Having driven up from Greece and stayed at a number of hotels on the way, we had the best welcome ever on arrival at Grand Hotel des Templiers from Sulwani Goulet who is first class customer service personified. Thank you so much ! Parking is fun as the entrance is narrow but help and guidance is on hand. Overall an excellent place to stay in Reims. Just remember- a lot of restaurants, shops and cafes are closed on Sunday and limited on Monday.

Stayed here for New Years Eve. Beautiful room in a quiet location. Room overlooked the interior courtyard. Lovely continental breakfast. Staff wonderful. No restaurant, but a good choice to suit all budgets within a few minutes walk. Reims centre a few more minutes walk with even more choice/shopping/sights

Super helpful and welcoming reception staff in a historic townhouse with an imposing foyer. Our room and bathroom were generously sized, and quiet despite city location. Bed was extremely comfortable and breakfast excellent with homemade preserves. Some fine restaurants close by for dinner, too.

The Grand Hotel Des Templiers is just a short walk from the historic town center, the Reims Cathedral, Palais de Tau, Musée de la Reddition, Musée de la Vergeur, champagne houses and lots of shopping. The entrance to the Grand Hotel des Templiers is just a few steps off the street and well-identified; the hotel is warm, inviting, comfortable and delightful. Check-in is available 24 hours, and the staff speaks multiple languages, including excellent English. With good reason, the owner/operator is very proud of her refurbished 19th century hotel (I love the wallpaper & woodwork); she often inquired as to my comfort, and was very patient as she gave me walking directions. Breakfast was fresh, hot and abundant with cheeses, fruits, breads, meats, eggs; book it when you make reservations— it’s worth the extra euro. Serving staff was cheerful and efficient. Seating may be inside or outside. The serving pieces and place settings are white china embellished in navy & gold and embossed with the Grand Hotel des Templiers name. I took other meals @ nearby cafes which the concierge helped me book. My room was large and comfortable, on the street, and quiet. The window shades totally darkened the room as they closed against the hot August sun via a switch and motor. (A first for me). Nice. Off-street parking is available but you should book it @ the same time you book your room. It seems a very safe area. I travel solo, and never tried the pool or sauna, nor had drinks @ the bar. That’s for my next visit.

We stayed in this wonderful hotel in the centre of Reims a short walk from the Cathedral, restaurants and bars. The staff, hotel, location, greeting on arrival etc were all excellent. The hotel is very French, with traditional furnishings and decor. The breakfast, which is gorgeous is served on beautiful fine china crockery. If you appreciate a true experience of France and French style this is the ideal place to stay. We intend staying again at our next stay in Reims.
