We stayed in Villa Luciana for 9 days in August - myself, my wife and 2 children (ages 7 and 14). We liked it so much we re-booked for next year before we even finished the holiday - and we've never decided to re-book the same villa in our lives! Firstly, the villa situation is excellent... the photos are good but it's actually better in the flesh. It's situated at the bottom of a hill, with only the road between it and the coastline - the road does have some traffic but isn't a major artery, and we didn't find it an issue. You've got a view of the treeline and the sea beyond, which is amazing to look out at, and the hills behind you are quite dramatic. There are a few other villas (6 I think) in the complex but they're arranged so that you don't feel overlooked, and we barely heard a murmer from them. All very peaceful. The villa (which was 3 bedrooms) has a decent-sized pool which was always warm (not sure if it's heated outside of the Summer season though - you should check). It's quite deep - around 1.5m - but very private and spotlessly clean. The seating area outside is generous in size and has lots of choices - 6 sun loungers, 6 dining chairs. Inside, the villa is clean, tidy and well laid out. The air con works perfectly even in the mid-30s outside, and all the gadgets worked fine. Plenty of space downstairs to lounge about, and some nifty electric shutters on all windows which were good to keep out the heat and for security. The bedrooms are a little smaller than average but large enough for holiday use, and all had satellite TV although I only figured out the remote control on the last day! There was a little wear and tear on some of the minor fittings, but nothing that got in the way. Overall, a nice spacious villa where it counted. We chose to eat out every night but the villa has a proper cooker, utensils, etc. Supermarkets are tourist-oriented and do lack a decent selection of fresh goods like meat and fish, so you will need to hunt around for supplies if you intend to cook in most nights. We were recommended a butchers in nearby Lardos, but it was closed when we visited. The villa is about 1 minute's walk from the nearest mini market which stocks a decent selection of food essentials, inflatables, sun tan lotion, etc. Next to that are a couple of low-rise aparthotel / restaurant / pool complexes, which do good food and happily allow you to swim in the pools, which we did more than once. They both have walks down to the a decent beach which has sun loungers and a small beach bar. Then about 2-3 mins walk down the sand is another larger beach with more loungers, and a bigger bar. Both are well worth a visit. It's all extremely easy to get to on foot and totally chilled. Further into the main resort of Pefkos itself is another large beach and a small one. We went to the large one and loved it. Talking of Pefkos, it's a short walk down the road - 10 mins if you're fast or 15 with little kids. The walk is a bit dusty as the path i
