WHAT WE LIKED: Terry and Elijah at the front desk were very nice and willing to accommodate! Mark, the maitre D at the single specialty restaurant, Chic, was very special. The small crab cake appetizer and sliced flank steak entree at Chic were tasty and cooked to order, and the ambience at Chic was upscale compared to the rest of the resort. The beach and ocean were nice, white sand, no rocks, clear and calm. The rooms all had spacious balconies.
WHAT WE DIDN'T LIKE: There was only one specialty restaurant, Chic, open for dinner (closed on Wednesdays and Sundays). The menu was limited, some of the entrees were not available on certain evenings, and the wait staff would not let me order an appetizer and soup (because the soup was considered an appetizer, and the "rule" of the kitchen was only one appetizer, one entree and one dessert per person per meal, even though we paid an upcharge of $100 per person per day for the all-inclusive option, which we regretted doing a third of the way into our stay. The breakfast buffet was adequate but limited. The quality and variety of the food at the buffet was disappointing. Table service at buffet after being seated was spotty at times and virtually non-existent at other times. We were harrassed almost constantly on the beach by locals selling their wares, although we did like having the opportunity to buy fresh coconuts on the beach. The rundown property kept running out of Baileys, tequila, etc. Not a VIP experience.
