This hotel was a former Sheraton and Marriott just completed a major renovation. Pros: Staff, particularly in the restaurant were very nice! Beautiful hotel. Nice restaurant and good service. Nice breakfast (a la cart is better than buffet). Very comfortable bed. Beautiful bathrooms, fully supplied. Pool was beautiful (also note con below) Nice location if you want to explore EUR for a day. (also note con below) Cons:. Long distance to Rome city center, 30/45 minutes (walk to station, train, etc. or expensive cab in traffic) Somewhat difficult to depart hotel on foot to train station or surrounding areas. (Note: do not follow maps, go through the park and walk around the opposite way to entrance. Maps will take you straight down a busy road with no sidewalk) Air conditioning in my room would not cool the room very well I asked if I could pay to upgrade to a suite for my stay and was told there was no availability. I looked on line and suites were available. Spa was closed. Pool is not heated and very cold, the concrete deck has no shade or umbrellas. There is an odd fence separating deck chairs to pool that is not visually or functionally appealing Summary: This is a very nice hotel that is still working out kinks from new opening. This is definitely a nice location if you want to be away from tourists and explore EUR and different sites. This is not a great choice if you are coming to Rome for a short time and want to visit all of the monuments. There are much better locations in the center. I work in Rome every year and will probably return for a night, just to get away from the hot, tourism in the City Center. I rated this stay a 3, but would easily change to a 4 if AC worked and communication about availability of suites was better. The price is just too high for those issues. Again, very nice and the potential is definitely there to be wonderful. May be a much better experience in the coming weeks and months.
