Fenix Beach Apartamentos

We could not check in on the night we arrived as we were never told that there is no front desk after 6:00pm and we needed a lockbox check-in. We had to find and pay for other accommodations the first night. There is only one way of contacting them and it is by phone, so without a phone plan that was impossible. Was not told of the late check-in requirement prior to arriving and there is nothing in their postings anywhere reflecting that. We had emailed the resort twice regarding car parking and late check-in and they never responded. Even did a read receipt and nothing. Had a friend in Spain call regarding the parking and late check-in and were told everything was ok and they were not told of the late check-in requirements either. Very bad customer service. Did not speak any English and we did not have WIFI yet to do google translate and they would not give us the WIFI password until we checked in. Refused to reimburse us for the accommodations that we had to pay for the first night. All signage, instructions and information was all in Spanish. Another family could not get their key cards working after hours and were in line with us for another place to stay and had to pay as they could not get a hold of the front desk (again as it closes at 6pm) and had no way of calling the after-hours phone line to get new keys cut. We ran into them the next day and Apartamentos Mar y Golf would not reimburse them for the paid room as they said they should have phoned the emergency line… but they had no way to do that. The resort was very nice but the beds were very hard and you can hear the people walking above you. The pool area was awesome. No instructions on how to use the stove and again no front desk after 6pm to ask. Never did figure it out. Had to use the toaster over the whole time.

Resort area quiet, nice bars and restaurants and lovely walk way on the front for miles but apartmentos mar y golf is in the back streets off the front and looks run down and tired reception only open a certain number of hours a day

There appears to be confusion in these reviews between Fenix apartments and Mar y Golf apartments (also confusingly called Ohtels Fenix Family). They are not the same! The former, which are signposted from the main road, are at 83 Calle Alameda. The latter are several streets away (address Avenida Diagonal/Paseo Centrale 44) and even more confusingly have a big sign on top of the building saying “Fenix Beach Apartamentos”! You need to be aware that the Mar y Golf is totally devoted to Spanish clients. The staff are not good at English and all the instructions are in Spanish. The first thing that happens on checking in is that you get charged €30 “for electricity”. The free parking on the property was inadequate at the weekend, having only 50 spaces for at least 9 blocks of apartments over 6 or 7 floors, so we had to park in the road. Not helped by the fact that at least one of the car park spaces was occupied by an old wreck, clearly not driven for years. The place was extremely busy at the weekend - we guess that many of the units are holiday homes/timeshares. There was lots of very loud boring repetitive music blaring out all day, except for a 2-hour period after lunch, for siesta. The sound level was 90dB even 20 feet BEHIND the speaker. This level is damaging to hearing. After the weekend, there were far fewer people, so we could move the car to the car park and generally it was more peaceful, with quieter music. Nevertheless, there were days when the music didn’t even stop for siesta. One day, there were precisely 4 people round the pool - us and two lifeguards - but still the music was left on. By Friday afternoon the place was packed again and the music really loud, with lots of shouting on the microphone. This went on from 5pm until nearly 7pm. There was no escape from it at the property- it could be heard several streets away. The apartment was dated and tired. There were chips off the corners of the melamine units in the wardrobes. In the bathroom, there was no effective extractor fan, the shower tray overflowed onto the floor and the sealant around it had black mould patches. The grouting in the shower was grubby. The chrome finish on the plastic shower fittings was peeling off. I have cooked in many kitchens in self-catering apartments across the years and I can confidently say this was the smallest. There was too little worktop space and that was cooking for two, never mind the four (or even purportedly 6) the apartment could accommodate. There was a 17cm ***** of worktop on either side of the sink, not useful. The other worktop was 0.44m2, of which 0.129m2 was taken up by the microwave, leaving a working area of just over 0.3m2, about the size of a tray. The sharp corner of the overhead cooker hood was dangerous for your head. The plastic patio table had brown tea/coffee stains. Try as we might, we couldn’t get the aircon to work. Leaving the windows open in the heat just resulted in mosquito bites overnight.

the apartment was in the first fllor, very confortable to get the swimming-pool. The swimming-pool was big the air conditioner was very goog and the kitchen had got washing machine. the fridge was big

En general está bien por un lado y regular en cuanto a instalaciones poca información al estar junto el hote que se puede utilizar restaurante , animación bar etc. Lo único que sabíamos el horario de la picina

Apartamentos normales, están un poco alejados de la playa, hay que coger el coche para ir a ella. Están un poco antiguos en cuanto a mobiliario, también el aspecto exterior necesita un buen arreglo.

Muy bien en alojamiento, toallas y apartamento, la limpieza un poco al trote pero bien en general. Nos atendieron muy amables y sin ninguna pega. Si tienes alguna consulta te la resuelven en el momento. Satisfechos con el apartamento. Tenía algún desperfectos pero sin importancia.

El apartamento agradable en unas instalaciones con una piscina estupenda con actividades diarias. El entorno muy chulo.

Se debería reformar. No se pueden compartir las instalaciones con el hotel, son insuficientes. Falta de control para cumplir las mínimas normas de urbanidad
