Hôtel Paulette Rouen Centre Cathédrale

Beautifully decorated hotel. The rooms were very nice and very clean. The buffet breakfast was plentiful and very tasty. The staff were very nice and very helpful. Hotel is in central Rouen, quite close to the river. We parked in the cathedral car park.

Our room was extremely small with only a queen-size bed, but it had an elevator, air condition and a walk-in shower. Very quiet location and a delicious breakfast. Our deodorant fell from the shelf above the toilet into the toilet bowl...I will never understand why interior architects don't think of such things, but I guess they have no experience with hotel rooms. So my advice: don't use that shelf.

I booked a single room last minute when my airBnB didn’t have a/c as promised on the listing. It was a heatwave and I just couldn’t do it. Hotel Paulette came through for me with a clean room and freezing cold air conditioning. It was absolute bliss after 3 days in Paris with a barely functioning a/c. The room is small and the bathroom is teeny tiny, but it’s well designed and everything is clean. It’s all you need when traveling solo. All of the common areas are also lovely. I didn’t get the breakfast, but do yourself a favor and get it. It’s open earlier than most of the cafes so you might as well start your day here. There is an espresso/cappuccino machine too! Rouen is small and very walkable, so even though this is close to the river, you can walk all the way to the train station, no problem. If you need to do laundry, there is a laundromat close by or the hotel will also do a load for you. The laundromat is far less expensive though. The staff was delightful and so patiently allowed me to practice my French without just switching to English when I faltered. I always really appreciate that. I felt very safe here as a solo traveler. The hotel main entrance needs your room key swiped to enter, as does the hallway in the stairwell. It’s 3 key swipes to get into your room.

The hotel was renovated recently. Kind and friendly staff, super cute decor, small and cosy room but with enough space for a couple. The bathroom was very modern as well. Soap smells great! Awesome A/C!!!! Located near underground parking and between the main road and old city sites. Ideal.

Had a good sleep lovely man at the front desk showed us to the room and gave some cakes which was kind🇫🇷👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 Very close to major attractions including the cathedral and lots of nice bars and restaurants . What’s good is there is a car park which helped us a lot I hope you enjoy your stay should you choose to come

On the plus side, every member of the staff that I interacted with was very pleasant and helpful. The location of the hotel is also very close to the center of town. The internet was also pretty good. On the downside, I booked a triple room for 3 people. I have never been so claustrophobic in a hotel room. The room must have once been an attic. The elevator stopped on the 3rd floor and then you had to walk up the stairs to the 4th floor. Our room barely fit the two beds with about .5 meter between them. There was not enough space for our 3 carry on bags and we had to use the bathroom for storage. The walls were angled and the only outlet to the outside world was a small skylight. The shower was a hand shower and had no curtain. You had to hunch over so that you could stand against the angled wall and not get water all over the bathroom floor. The room could have been manageable for a single person, but not three.

Staff is very nice and helpful. Breakfast buffet was great. Room very clean, but small (no closet). Beds were comfortable. Easy to walk to and from the hotel to all the major sights and restaurants.

The hotel is very central with a garage close by. The rooms are neat and cozy but very tiny, especially the bathrooms. But if you don’t mind living compactly, it's a nice enough place to stay. The breakfast was good, but a bit on the slim side if you are allergic to gluten.
