Clos 1906

Clos 1906 is a cosy establishment with beautiful decor, very comfortable rooms, within a lovely quiet situation. David et Eduard are fantastic hosts and lovely people , offering advice and help on anything you might require. The location is great - a 10-15 minute walk into Saint-Emilion itself, and the beautiful scenery of vineyards is lovely for walking around. Highly recommended!

David and Eduard have done a wonderful job! The decor is just the right mix of traditional and modern. The inn is very close to Saint-Emilion. Our room was clean and delightful! Breakfast was excellent as well. Our only regret is that we didn't stay longer!

Clos 1906 was the absolute best place to start our European vacation! From the moment we walked in after planes..trains.. automobiles, we felt instantly relaxed and taken care of. The care didn't start when we arrived, but even well before! Eduard helped us book all of our winery and dinner reservations for weeks leading up to the trip and everything was beyond amazing. Saint Emilion is a slice of heaven and this special place makes it even better. Our room was an upstairs suite which was WAY bigger than what we expected, with a gorgeous bathroom, tons of space and the most cozy bed to recover from jetlag. I also want to call out David who helped Eduard our last day. He was so so so friendly and sweet, he even gave us tons of recommendations for our last stop and blew us kisses while we left. We stayed at Clos 1906 during our first trip to St. Emillion and it was absolutely perfect. Eduard is the consummate host, genteel and kind, and beyond helpful as we figured out restaurant reservations, winery visits and even how to charge our electric car. The room was large and comfortable with lots of light, high ceilings and nice details like slippers and a coffee maker and an incredible TV platform (rare in Europe) and blazing fast internet (also rare in Europe). Hot water was instant and plentiful. Lovely soaps and lotions in the bathroom. Beautiful breakfast in a lovely breakfast room that's like a cafe. Easy parking. Lovely bedding and comfortable mattress (I'm picky). This compared very favorably to hotels three times the cost on this trip including two Relais & Chateaux properties. This felt more like a luxury hotel than a B&B with zero forced social interaction which is what we usually don't like about B&B's in the USA. Easy 5 minute drive into town or 15 minute walk. Highly recommended. Book this place and start working with Eduard on your restaurant reservations. Thank you Eduard for a delightful stay - we will be back!

The only way to describe the experience at Clos 1906 is magical serenity! Truly a little slice of heaven in one of the most charming towns I’ve ever visited. Eduard & Stephen have created the most incredible and hospitable environment in their beautifully designed home. If you have the opportunity to visit this exquisite town, I highly recommend staying at Clos 1906, you won’t regret it! We will be back to visit very soon🤗❤️

Had the most fantastic stay at Clos 1906. We stayed for seven nights with another couple and it felt like we were visiting friends who had a fabulous Chateau in France. Eduard and David were excellent hosts. Eduard went above and beyond securing dinner reservations and booking tastings. Clos 1906 is beautifully renovated and decorated with very large rooms and a fantastic breakfast. We can't wait to come back as soon as our wine cellar needs restocking!

My husband and myself have just come back from a thoroughly enjoyable stay at Clos 1906. The hotel is located about 20 mins away from the centre of St Emilion which is perfect as you are nearby but not in the middle of this popular tourist spot. The property is immaculate and the interior is high end. We stayed in the St Emilion suite which was flawless, the bed and bathroom are huge and the room is very quiet. Our host Eduard was very welcoming and helpful with restaurant, vineyards and wine tastings suggestions. We visited Bordeaux while we there and he gave us tips for this also. We had a small issue one night with the air con, the next day Eduard offered us the apartment or another room at no extra charge - this was beyond 5 star service. The breakfast is continental but plenty of it with freshly squeezed orange juice, croissants, bread, yoghurt, fruit, homemade cakes etc. There is a lovely pool and terrace area, unfortunately there were a lot of mosquitoes so we didn’t sit outside otherwise we would have used the honesty bar and had a sundowner overlooking the stunning countryside.I would recommend this hotel and Eduard particularly, we hope to come back one day.

10/10 service, location and facilities. We had a wonderful stay in a super clean and comfortable room! The breakfast, peaceful garden and pool were real highlights. They even sorted a smart tv so my husband could watch a football game…

this is the second time that we have stayed at this lovely B&B. Its beatifully furnished and we loved the Saint Emillion suite! Lovely comfy bed and a huge bathroom. The lounge is a great place to sit on chillier days when you cant sit by the swimming pool looking over the vines. Eduardo serves a continental breakfast of pastries, cheese, ham, fruit and yogurt just perfect if you are lucky enough to be able to sit outside in the sunshine. He is also very willing to give advice on when to visit and will happily recommend restaurants and book them for you. A nice 20 min walk into town is made easier walking back as its downhill!
