Logis Maison Vauban - Hotel St Malo

Although we stayed only one night, the choice of this hotel was excellent. It is located within the walls in a quiet section but close to everything - including the perfect crêperie/galette restaurant on the walls themselves offering the a breathtaking view of the sunset. Our room was small but clean and there was an elevator. The manager was very helpful and charming as well. It was he who recommended the crêperie and kept our luggage while we wandered before our departure. Wonderful!

The hotel was one of the best on our trip. The check in was great and provided lots of options for food and what to do.

This is a lovely hotel situated within the walls of St Malo. The chap who checked us in was so great, full of local information and gave us suggestions on breakfast etc.. We had booked 4 rooms and they were all located together which was lovely. We had 1 front facing room and 3 rear facing. The rooms were small but provided everything we needed as we really were only there to sleep. The bathrooms are bijou and the sliding doors aren’t too soundproof but it wasn’t a major issue. The beds were amazing, so comfortable and we really appreciated this! Water was available from the bar (no charge) and although there was no air conditioning, we asked for a fan which was provided and helped a little. One point to note - keep very quiet when entering the hotel at night, (via the rear entrance with a code) there is a not so nice neighbour who likes to fling open his windows and scream at you that you’re making a noise! He terrified the children and ended up making more noise than all of us put together! Overall we would recommend this hotel, and would go back!

My son and I had a fabulous stay at La Maison Vauban. The host, Christophe, could not do enough for us to make it a pleasant holiday. The hotel is perfectly located in central Saint Malo, offers a good continental breakfast and clean, comfortable rooms with easy access. We enjoyed many of Christophe's food and drink recommendations whilst in Saint Malo and will return again one day soon.

Located inside the walls, but still quiet and acceptable pricingalso in August. Very friendly service, OK and clean rooms. No air-condition, but you can sleep with an open window as there is almost no traffic and quiet. We didn’t try the breakfast, so cannot comment on that.

Great boutique hotel, with an excellent location. Rooms are small. Staff is very nice.

We had a delightful 2 night stay at the Maison Vauban. The hotel was very conveniently located and the room was very clean and comfortable. The staff were very helpful and friendly and we would definitely stay again.

Owner ( I think) was hugely helpful about our ferry being delayed giving us security code and leaving door unlocked, which made our early am arrival so much better for us. The hotel is very well located in the centre of town and less than a 20 minute walk from the ferry terminal. The room itself- Number 6 - is small, there is no way round that. However the bed is very comfortable and it had a lovely view onto the square. The shower door is very noisy when you open and close it and possibly needs replacing. Breakfast is well worth it with amazing coffee in bowl sized cups, pastries, yoghurts, boiled eggs, cheese and ham. There is a little bar with some home made rum options. Sadly we didn’t try as there was an amazing pub across the road, but if we had stayed longer we definitely would have done.

What a great spot. We were able to find parking right next to the hotel. This was after. Great ride through the walled city. Staff was friendly and helpful. Classic French breakfast. Great location in a great city. Highly recommend.
