La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham St. Petersburg Northeast

What an absolutely horrible excuse for a hotel. I would never stay at a hotel that would even think about hiring a front desk associate so rude, inconsiderate, and beyond ignorant. Let's start when we first checked in. They claim to be a nonsmoker hotel yet the entire floor we were in smelled of *** and then our room smelled of cigarettes; whatever, we were only staying for the night. We booked this hotel because it was "dog friendly". We arrive, we check in and left our (small 13 lb ) dog in the room and leave for dinner.... We get back to be told to leave as they don't accept dogs- which is not true. They said that there are signs on the doors and a waver we sign stating this - which is also not true. I cannot even begin to tell you how demeaning and inhumane she was. This all happens at 11pm and about 5 hours away from where we call home. We left the hotel when we threatened to have the police called over our once again 13 lb dog... Some people live and breathe to make people as miserable as they are on the inside. Please - never book this place. Pay the extra fees to stay in a nice place with a team that isn't going to treat you like **** of the earth. I called trip.com and they were absolutely amazing! They made sure that, given our circumstances, that we were taken care of. Thank you for trying to make this right and will be booking with trip.com again
