Hotel Nórdico by Nordic

When we booked we were supposed to pay at the hotel but payment was taken online in advance (rather than just as a deposit) meaning we were not able to take advantage of the tourist rate which made our stay much more expensive than expected. This seems to be a confusion between how Trip and the hotel operate. Also be aware that the hotel does not have a card machine so you have to pay via the online system even if in person. The hotel itself was nice and the staff friendly and helpful but the payment really took the shine off of our stay.

I strongly recommend that you not stay here. Pros: The location was convenient, room was cleaned nicely each night. Cons: the staff sat behind a glass window, barely spoke, I felt like I was staying in a shady motel that rented rooms by the hour. They tried to overcharge me for luggage storage for which I had to stand my ground for 30 minutes before being given my luggage. They charged an extra 30 percent to pay via credit card for minibar and the luggage storage. They did not believe I had a reservation for my last night until I finally showed them my ******* receipt and then they showed me to a room that was already being used. I do not blame the staff, I blame the management as they appear to be instructing their staff to treat the customers rudely. I checked out of the hotel without staying the night, ensuring the staff had my door key and knew that I was not staying, but was then I was contacted the next morning to let me know that I was late checking out. In my month in Chile and Argentina I have only experienced kind and professional staff at my various stays, the only exception being this hotel. If you can stay just slightly outside of the center I highly recommend Hosteria El Condado by Nordic (same hotel group, similar price, but night and day customer service). Ask for Esteban or Anna, they were both wonderful.

We stayed for only one night and had a good stay. It’s close to the center and even if there were a lot of bars around, it was quiet in the room even with the window open. The room was comfortable and clean (besides a few long hairs left on the floor), as were the bedsheets and towels

The property need an update, floor is cracking , poor ventilation.... the price was very high for the poor conditions of the building... the pictures dosnt represent the reality of the hotel.

Great place to stay near the center of the city. The place is cozy and the people at the reception are very kind and always ready to help.

Hotel Nórdico by Nordic is located in the centre of San Carlos de Bariloche at 2.5 km of the bus-station. The hotel offers 13 rooms over 3 floor. No lift and no breakfast. Next door café EM&C has very good breakfasts. Free Wi-Fi. Reception closes at 22:00. Friendly staff. We made our reservation via Booking and confirmed by credit-card. That appeared to be a mistake. Booking immediate charges in USD. You better email or call the hotel for a reservation and pay cash in AR$ on arrival. Our very small room was adequately furnished and decorated, had an OK double bed, open wardrobe & safe, TV on the wall, fridge with soft drinks, but no chair & no table. The window can be opened into a 10m2 air-shaft. We had a separate small bathroom with a toilet, wash basin, bidet and shower over the bath. All was clean. Daily house keeping. We received several requests by the hotel to check-in via the web. That implied, besides filling in the usual personal info, a copy of the two relevant sides our passports. We found that overdone and very unsafe. We refused to send copies of our passports over the web. We found hotel Nórdico a practical hotel, and we had an OK stay in our cramped room.

Just for sleep. No restaurant.

Everything worked like a charm, starting with the wireless door key app.
