I would love to rate the room itself, however upon trying to check in we were informed at nearly 10 pm that our room wasnt available due to a plumbing issue. Frustrating because check in was supposed to be available at 4 pm and there was no correspondence from the hotel that there was a major issue 6 hours prior to us arriving. Leaving us no time to find a new place to stay.
Upon arriving, and them informing us our room wouldnt be available and that they had no other rooms available, they let us know they had a room available at their sister property, the king james. I looked up the hotel they were trying to give us as an even exchange and the rooms at the king james are aweful, nasty old rooms. Also, those rooms were available online for 1 quarter the price of the original reservation at the Griffon i had. When i asked if there would be a partial payback since there was a drastic difference in price they said no. And to be honest, i wouldnt have stayed at the king james anyway, its disgusting and in a terrible area.
We then asked for a complete refund of the room price so we could search for a new place to stay. They told us they couldnt refund the money, because there were no managers on site! Ridiculous. What business that is having a major plumbing issue doesnt have anyone on site with authority to handle the issue, or at minimum being available to their employees to handle the issue. They kept my money and didnt have a room. Never book here
