Apartamentos Gema Aguamarina Golf

This is my second time staying at the hotel. I first stayed with my kids last year and loved it so much I came back with my friend this year. First of all, all the staff in this hotel from reception, cleaners, maintenance, entertainment team are so friendly. Everyone says hello as you walk by and I’ve never had a bad experience with a member of staff here. You are felt very welcomed the entire time. The entertainment staff are out of this world. Miguel, Erika and the rest of the entertainment team I felt like were friends by the time we left. They really try to get people involved but are not overbearing. They politely ask if you’d like to join in and if you say no then that’s that but they are very entertaining and put a lot of effort into getting the people who want to get involved going. The kids disco at night all the children loved and I loved watching them get the kids all dancing and singing. Yes it is the same songs everyday but the kids love it and I loved watching them have a good time. The adults disco and bingo was amazing and so much fun. The outside entertainment that’s brought in could do with upgrading I won’t lie but I’d be happy with just in house entertainment team providing all the entertainment to be honest. The hotel is spotlessly clean throughout. Every morning there would be cleaning staff working hard and everything is shining and clean and it smells amazing! The pool is also spotlessly clean. There are plenty of pool staff around in the morning making sure it’s clean and safe for everyone before it’s opened up at 10am. We didn’t have a problem getting sun loungers although when I came in the Easter holidays the year before it was a little busier so just be aware if you go in the school holidays it’s probably going to be a little harder to find a bed. The food here is incredible. I honestly don’t know what the bad reviews are about regarding food. There is always plenty of choice and yes some things are the same every day but they do vary the rice dishes and the fresh meat they cook in front of your face. There’s plenty of options for everyone if you bother to read the labels on the food or open your eyes. It’s all inclusive not a 5* restaurant and I’ve been on plenty of holidays and all the all inclusive is basically the same except some places have rubbish food but this is not one of them. Food is cooked to perfection and it’s all kept hygienic in my eyes. The bar staff are always so nice and accommodating and I’ve never waited longer than 5 minutes for a drink. The only thing I would say is they could do with a cocktail menu to let you know what’s available and what’s included and what needs to be paid for. The food at the bar is also decent for bar food and is available most of the day. The hotel is only 15 mins from the airport and is very out of the way. The area is very quiet. Experiance was excillant. Room service was good. Only problem is they put 2 small bed together. We couples are struggle sleep together

Food was the same , plastic cups in the evening drinks were terrible,sun beds all taken after 10am areas closed off unless you upgraded. Evening entertainment was not good .

We visited and upgraded to My Favourite Club and...the services were beyond expectation. The experience was worth more than we paid and thought it should cost.

Rooms were spotless and housekeeping were outstanding. Pool areas were clean and well maintained. Spa was reasonably priced. Stayed for 4 nights and had a good time but would not return. Long queues at the buffet and very repetitive. Gave up on dinner after first night and ate out for the other 3 even though we were all inclusive. Breakfast was good but lunch was mostly the same good choice of salads but not much else unless your holiday comprises burgers, chicken nuggets, pizza and chips hot food was a bit random to say the least. Staff in the buffet were exceptional however plates cleared and tables cleaned very well. Evening entertainment was not for us I’m afraid kids disco went on too late and lots of young children in the bars until very late. All inclusive drinks stopped at 11pm so felt a bit like a curfew. If you were travelling with children however the entertainment team were fabulous with th always something going on . Free shuttle bus to busier parts of the island was a hod send. Was not got us so won’t be back but would recommend for families with children although there was no beach to speak of great golf courses though if that’s your thing.

The reception team was phenomenal during our stay, the helped us get checked in and assured us we would be able to make use of the all inclusive facilities even though our transfer arrived 4 hours before our check-in. The check was just as fabulous. The room was immaculate!! Just as stunning as the brochure photos. The food was great for picky eaters and adventurous appetites. I went with my mum and sister and we all had such a great time. So wouldn't hesitate to go back with friends, family or even by myself. You're guaranteed to be looked after

Agree with majority of reviews a good 4 star hotel. we stayed first week in may for a golfing trip as amirilla golf is across the road and golf del sur round the corner. We found the area very windy during our stay infact at night even wearing a pullover it was too cold and windy to sit outside. On 2 days we left the hotel where it was cloudy and windy and went golfing to golf americas about 10 miles away.There was no wind or clouds ,Very warm sunshine. Apparently the area near the airport has strong winds and clouds because of its location nearer to mount Teide. I have stayed about 20 times in Tenerife but always further down the coast and enjoyed nice weather. To sum up I would happilly stay at the hotel ,but unfortunately I wouldnt return to golf del sur area because of the difference in weather from the rest of the island,
