The Residency Sandhurst

…abit of an upsetting stay this time round. Check in they didn’t have a key to give, which is a huge security risk. I had to ask continuously. Receptionist & Staff don’t help with suitcases as you check in. towels not refreshed, given less than before. Room aircon doesn’t warm up the room at all. Not enough blankets. It’s super cold. Otherwise convenient and easy to get around from.

We liked everything about this place the room was very clean and big and the staff was very friendly and helpful i left my phone charger and they called me to fetch it i will definitely book again super

network connection was a nigh**are. it will sometime takes some time for the reception to respond when called. the bed was comfortable. i booked for breakfast but for some reason it was changed. i did not prepare for self catering.

Ironing board was very small and had visible food stains! Was told to cover it with a towel! No bedroom slippers and the bath towel was very small. They should not allow smoking in the corridors and staircase. No water bottles. The tiny TV did not work.

Nice gated safe property. Checkin on a last minute booking was fast and simple.

The Residency is my stay of choice in Sandhurst/Sandton, this is my 8th stay perhaps more, the same price as a suite in a 4 star hotel, but three times the size and doubly comfortable, with proper kitchen and all facilities you'd expect from a 5 star establishment. The elegance of The Residency apart from its location is its low key helpful personnel, obliging, attentive and kind always helpful, rooms are spotlessly clean and designed in good taste. Unlike other similar locales in the neighborhood, there is no noise, no smells of others cooking. And no unnecessary buzz of activity or doors opening or closing. A blip in the TV reception was rectified within minutes at 22.00 hours in the evening. A very well run establishment, consistent, clean and elegant.

We loved the location and on the internet, the property look fabulous but was rather disappointing. Email communication was so positive, then on arrival, our proof of payment was asked for again, as they had lost it and the whole feel was rather unpleasant.

I enjoyed fully all the services offered, the humility of all the staff including the cleaning staff. Security is well maintained and the perfect location enables you to move around the area freely. I look forward to my next stay at the Residency.

We had a very late check in as we had been driving throughout the night from the Eastern Cape. We did call to confirm our booking and that we are still coming. Finally arrived at The Residency and they could not now find our booking and the check in process took a good 45min. Finally got in to our room, took a shower and only to be woken up at 3am by the phone with receptionist telling us he had checked us into a wrong unit and that we should now wake up so he can move us to the correct unit because they will deduct the money from his salary. We refused and tried to get some sleep. Tried to cancel the other days of booking and became a errounos process where we ended up having to settle on paying for unit that we were wrongly checked into by the hotel and still yet recieve our refund some almost two weeks later. A huge no for me, nice property but a ludicrous service and refund policy. In fact I’ve currently commissioned research to determine whether or not their refund policy of offering a voucher to sleep in one of their properties and not cash is in line with the consumer act.
