Gasthof Hirschen Schwarzenberg

Can't say enough good about this place. The location is amazingly beautiful. The accommodations are great. Everyone was extremely nice. The restaurant is phenomenal- a true gourmet experience. We would love to come back again. We were blown away by our time in Austria and especially at Hirschen Schw****nberg.

We visited Hirschen for the second time and it was - again - a blissful week of pure enjoyment in every sense. The historic building with its art and lovely features, the lovely town and surroundings, it is all beautiful. My breakfast at the Hirschen is one of the highlights of my stay here. It has been last year and it was again now. The served breakfast options even made it better. Perfectly sized dishes, so refined and tasteful. Also what I truly appreciated was that the children’s menu at night now had a healthy choice option (vegetables of the day with potatoes). Very worth mentioning are the cakes made by the in house patissier that are to die for. I am a lover of mascarpone and the strawberry and blueberry mascarpone tarts were one of the best I have eaten ever… for food lovers that can appreciate the subtle tastes of the variety of dishes this is the place to be as well. All in all I had a wonderful stay, thanks to the whole team that made it happen.

We've known the area of Bregenzerwald for a long time, so we were quite excited to visit this gem. However, overall it was actually slightly disappointing. This might have to do with the fact that it is quite hyped and - in our view - couldn't deliver. First of all, Austria's current dealings with Covid 19 and the regulations are a bit too loose for my liking. The tables in the restaurant are so close to each other that I found myself whispering rather than talking when in a conversation. It also felt like whenever someone walked past, they brushed against the table, the chair or even myself. During breakfast, some tables had to be set in the lounge/bar (lack of space in the restaurant), which isn't ideal for eating, since the sofas and comfy chairs are meant to lean back and "drown" in them, rather than sit upright and eat. The service personal was so busy that they kept erroring orders. Half of the breakfast was served in portions, the other half as set up as a buffet - conveniently situated in front of the door to the kitchen. I bet the serving staff loved that. If you want to use the internet frequently, try to avoid room number 5. The only place where you'll get any reception is while you're on the loo. Also, having a TV with 130+ channels would be great, but if only a handful of them work, well, it doesn't leave the best impression. Last but not least: if you have a bar, hire a bartender to go with it. Having the waiter from the restaurant follow me into an unattended bar to take my order is kind of awkward. I ordered an Amaretto sour and got an Amaretto with Lemon juice in it. At least there were ice cubes too, so it somewhat resembled a cocktail. All in all, I expected a lot. Too much, perhaps. There's still room to grow.

Lovely, atmospheric hotel that was full of surprises and nice touches. Service was excellent and accomodating. Chefs exceptional and happy to make adjustments to the menu to suit any dietary restrictions. The surrounding area is beautiful to explore. We will be back.

Wirklich ein tolles Haus mit ausgezeichntetem Service und hervorragender Kulinarik. Der Aufenthalt ist unglaublich ungezwungen und man fühlt sich sogleich sehr wohl. Vielen Dank für Alles, freue mich schon sehr auf das nächste Mal :-) S. Boucherie

Dans le cadre des Schubertiades nous avons séjourné 2 fois au Hirschen cette année. Le cadre est soigné, le salon accueillant, on s'y sent bien. Le restaurant n'offre qu'une carte limitée, mais d'excellente qualité. Le personnel est essentiellement féminin aimable et attentionné et vous salue par votre nom. C'est extrêmement agréable. 2 points pourraient être améliorés. Le parking tout d'abord. Trouver une place tient de la chasse au trésor, voire du rodéo. A améliorer d'urgence. L'autre amélioration souhaitable concerne le petit déjeuner. La direction fait une fixation sur le beurre et la confiture gaspillés. Un peu plus de générosité sur les quantités offertes améliorerait fortement l'image d'hôtel boutique, agréable et accueillant que l'hôtel se donne et qu'il atteindra a 100% si ces petits défauts sont corrigés. Nous reviendrons l'année prochaine et espérons donner une note de5/5 à cet établissement par ailleurs tellement sympathique et charmant.

Nous avons découvert l’année dernière ce merveilleux établissement et nous avions décidé d’y retourner cette année tant nous avions été séduits .Tout y est parfait : sublime architecture, le charme des intérieurs ( salles de restaurant, bar , chambres et suites ) . Sans compter l’accueil , la qualité du restaurant, le service , l’attention aux détails . Le mélange d’une architecture du 18 eme siècle avec des œuvres contemporaines.

Top Gastfreundschaft! Personal war immer sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Kulinarik ist sehr sehr gut und hat uns enorm gefallen. Das Haus ist sehr stillvoll eingerichtet, nicht zuviel nicht zu wenig! Wir haben die Tage dort sehr genossen und werden sicher Wiederholungstäter :).

Vier Tage im Winter mit Kindern und Enkeln. Fast ohne Schnee aber trotzdem wunderbar. Das lag zum einen an der schönen Dorfarchitektur von Schwarzenberg, vor allem aber am äußerst stilvollen Gasthof "Hirschen" mit seiner bemerkenswert feinen betont regional geprägten Küche. Historische Räumlichkeiten, perfekt erhalten und gepflegt. Ebenso herzlicher wie kompetenter Srevice. Raffinierte Küche mit Bodenhaftung, sehr gute Weinauswahl zu fairen Preisen und mit guter Beratung. Großsrtiges Frühstück, erfreulicherweise überwiegend bedient. Für die Kinder und Enkel großzügige Räume im Nebenhaus, in dem sich auch eine Sauna befindet. Hier wird nun ein größeres Spa eingerichtet. Einziger nennenswerter Schwaxhpunkt ist die fast schon groteske Unterbeleuchtung der Zimmer im alten Gasthof. Natürlich braucht man fünf odersechs Lamper im Zimmer als Ambientelicht, man braucht aber auch zumindest eine helle Lichtquelle, wenn man es eilig hat und/oder zum Lesen....
