Being that the hotel opened earlier this year, I understand they are still ironing out some wrinkles. My first impression was that this is a lovely hotel in a fantastic location in the heart of Scottsdale's Fashion Center. I arrived early to see if I could get an early check-in and if not was happy to check my bags until the room was ready. I waited a few minutes to see if a valet would direct me where I could park to check on the room, but no one came out. When I got to the front desk the valet approached me asking for my keys while spoke with guest registration. I had reserved and prepaid for the Canyon De Chelly Suite (approx 989 sq ft). When they asked if I would like to pre-register I said sure and confirmed that I was in that suite. They said they had me in the antelope canyon suite (767 sq ft). I let them know that was not the room I booked and paid for. The woman helping me spoke with her manager and as the Chelly suites were being occupied I was upgraded to the peralta suite. It was a great room; what was not great was the previous guest's used earplugs, pills, and other items found in the drawers that housekeeping failed to check or the bar that was not restocked. For a room that costs in the area of $2400 a night depending on time of year, they need to do better. When I let the front desk know initially they simply said thank you for letting us know. At check out I asked that they remove the amenities charge as the amenities were definitely lacking. The hotel definitely has potential but it is not there yet.
