Epic Days Guest House

The accommodation is very well situated to visit Coimbra, really close to the beautiful University. If you have lots of luggage, it’s better to get there from the University, as you have to go up with lots of stairs coming from the lower part of the city. However, not a lot of restaurants and cafés open early in the morning closeby. There is a nice kitchen and small common patio. We had room 10. It’s quite small, with just enough space to walk around the bed and not a lot of storage space. Bed was ok to sleep, but not super comfortable. Area can be loud at night with a bar just across the street.

People (other renters? Residents?) talked very loudly most of the nights. Dogs barked all night. Pictures make the room appear much bigger than it is. Had to remove my backpack to pass the door. I’m usually not picky and I’ve stayed in a whole range of accommodation but this one, never again.

26-28/6/22 - Ground floor corner We three middle-aged guys from London were touring Portugal North to South by Public Transport. We booked this apar**ent as one of the cheaper ones, knowing it was in the university district a long way up the hill! Sure enough it was up the hill, a bit tricky to find and once found an elaborate process to get the key from a coded box in another (coded entry) adjacent door. Once into the corner ground floor apar**ent we found a cosy, space with a double bed taking up most of the triangular corner. A bunk bed by one wall was easy to access. Windows were difficult to keep open to get a draught but we wedged a glass in. The access to the double bed was difficult and the pillow would gave dropped behind easily so I physically moved it square on to the back wall. The kitchen was tight and reasonably equipped, a small dining table squeezed between with only space for two chairs. The rug on the floor snagged with the fridge door's opening so I removed it completely. Other reviewers have commented on the IKEA fittings and space saving accessories - true! The shower-room was modern and fine. At night it was quiet. One day we washed some clothes but there was nowhere to hang them so I made up an elaborate strings and bungees. There is a very lively student bar just round the corner which served us well for the night it was open! Acceptable wine at €1 a plastic glass. The images on the TA site are of the upper rooms as ours was a lot tighter! One did feel a bit exposed to passers-by if our windows were open. Overall though a perfectly good economical place to stay for two, three at a pinch but four at a real squeeze! Once in I had to help other new arrivals to get them into their flats with a few phone calls. Upper apar**ents have more space. Ground floor is cramped for three, a real squeeze for four. Good value though up that steep hill!

Great location. Very close to University. Susana is Very friendly with each of her guests. Room is clean. Highly recommended.

Very close to museums

After 4 circles around we finally found this quirky little place.

Alojamento simples e satisfatório. dependendo do dia de semana pode ser uma zona barulhenta devido a vida noturna estudantil. Quanto à limpeza, a roupa da cama e toalhas são limpas e boas, mas o quarto e WC necessitam de uma limpeza a fundo urgente. Nada justifica a acumulação de bolor nas paredes ,tetos e na base do chuveiro.

Bien ubicado cerca de la universidad. Las noches horribles, imposible dormir, jaleo brutal hasta las 3 se la mañana fuera del alojamiento. Los pasillos, puertas y escalera muy estrechos. Falta de limpieza en el baño y en la habitación, puedes encontrar bichos. La cama muy comoda.

Struttura nella zona universitaria e rumorosa di suo in più se ti capita la stanza al piano terra sentirai tutti i passi della camera di sopra . Bagno scomodississimo , fuori legge ,per raggiungere il lavandino devi salire su un gradino e se te lo dimentichi , come ho fatto io , rischi di cadere e farti male. Stanza e letto buono nota positiva il terrazzo . Inoltre se stai facendo il cammino scordati il timbro qui solo check in online e nessun votato con la reception che tra l’altro non esiste. Preparatevi a una lunga salita per raggiungerlo.
