Sete Cidades Lake Lodge

We booked two of the lake lodges for 7 nights. The lodges are spacious and very well designed. An eye for the mid century in style but clearly well thought out to blend in with the environment. The surroundings are lovely semi tropical and private. The welcome pack was the best we’ve ever had in any accommodation. Our only constructive criticisms are that the Sete Cidades are a humid environment and the lodges would benefit from having dehumidifiers installed to avoid a slight feeling of damp. The owner André and his father were both extremely helpful and gave us excellent info on things to see and do - perhaps having a “house book” with such info in would be good (saves on having to send WhatsApp messages). A very enjoyable stay and happy to recommend.

Staying here made me feel like a local villager in this small town of 500 people. The cabin itself is so cute - I loved burning the candles and the fireplace at night to set a beautiful ambiance. This place is perfect for 1-2 people. I made good use of the free bikes and rode both of the lakes as far as possible/paved. Go to the little market up the street and stock the fridge as the food options in this town are minimal. Visit the little bread house - doors open at 7 a.m. each morning and a family bakes fresh break for about 30 cents. The owner left me a huge basket of local cheeses, wine, biscuits, and fruit - totally delicious stuff and above and beyond expectations. I enjoy the lakes and the trails all day and then would drive over the mountain to Mosteiros to catch the sunset. Chase that weather and live the dream!

A lovely spot right on the crater lake in Sete Ciudad. Very quiet, sleepy little town, with lots of beautiful views and lots of cats (that mind their own business unless you’re like me and want to say hi to them, then they’re often friendly!). The bungalow is beautiful and it was very nice to mix it up and stay in a private space instead of a hotel. The host, André, gave us fantastic suggestions for local activities and information on low tide to visit Ponta de Ferraria, which was a highlight of our trip (an inlet where the Atlantic Ocean is warmed by volcanic activity that is dreamy at low tide).

These are 3 very well-planned out cabins by the lake of 7 cidades. They each have their own little garden with a communal bbq area and free bikes and a kayak are also available. The cabin has a fully equipped kitchen and a fireplace which we lit up every evening since it was quite chilly. A food basket was prepared for us including some very delicious cheese and honey. The highlight of our stay was the baker close by from where we got freshly baked warm bread every morning for just a few cents. We used to go for bike rides along the lakes in the afternoons and further away by car in the mornings and evenings since the good restaurants are at least 15mins away in Mosterios which is lovely at sunset.

Appartamento spazioso, con zona Living e cucina ben attrezzata, bagno con doccia molto grande-fenestrato-e camera da letto, armadiatura capiente. L'arredamento è di buon gusto e molto curato. All'arrivo si trova in cucina un cesto con l'occorrente per la colazione ( mele arance ananas banane granola latte caffe the marmellata burro miele yogurt) e una bottiglia di vino. Intorno, solo natura. Il lago è lì, a due passi ( davvero due!!), la sera si sente il gracidare di decine di rane, il giorno il cinguettio degli uccelli. Il paesino è tranquillo, si vede pochissima gente in giro, ci sono un bar e un ristorante ( che non abbiamo provato). Il lodge mette a disposizione Bici e kayak e prima dell'arrivo André invia le coordinate GPS per trovare agevolmente il lodge, i link per le visite e i trekking nei dintorni, info su cosa fare. Se amate il silenzio, la natura, camminare o andare in bici intorno al lago e avere un luogo comodo e confortevole in cui tornare la sera, scegliete senza dubbio il Sete Cidades Lake Lodge!!!

Großartige Unterkunft. Super gemütlich vorallem bei regnerischen Tagen wie wir sie hatten. Es ist alles unglaublich liebevoll eingerichtet. Die Kerzen, der Kamin einfach wunderbar. Es ist auch sehr sauber und ordentlich. Das Bett ist sehr bequem und die Dusche groß. Nach den Bildern hatte ich mit weniger Platz und einem kleinerem Haus gerechnet. Es ist aber für zwei Leute perfekt. Auch die Lage direkt am See ist super.

Cabañas al pie del lago azul de Sete Cidades pero SIN vistas (si sales fuera de la casa principal, ya estás en el lago y el paisaje es brutal!) La cabaña está muy bien y tiene todo lo que necesitas (ojo, entra mucha luz). El anfitrión muy amable pero es importante que esté para el check in para explicarte cosas, darte una cesta de bienvenida, etc (así es más familiar - que es el concepto del hotel). Tienen bicis y kayak que puedes usar! Nosotros dimos una vuelta por el lago y es top.
