Channel View Hotel

B4 I arrived asked about steps as disabled was told there was a lift yes tot he room then more steps to bar pool breakfast room awful donr go if disabled was not told b4 restraint open tjat sat nite no entertainment that nite nothing even tho hotel seem really busy alot people weren't happy with this should say on website or told us we would of stayed somewhere to be honest the rooms are very dated clean but the shower curtain was vile new one needed amd the shower lead is attached to the wall so u canr really uae it properly beds were very very soft could feel springs breakfast was OK took nearly an hr tho as they kept losing our order what a joke went to reception to ask about getting a drink for bar o. The sat nite she said go through I'm on my way 15ins layer she was still talking ro the same member of staff oh yeah sorry I'm only way rude unhelpful I then wanted layer a cold bottle of water nope we o ly have warm even tjo they came from fridge again. Rude didn't say hello didn't say sorry about is information about being suitable for disabled I'm In agony walking up down steps left was OK but atill had long walk and steps parking is a nigh**are as people take up 2 spaces with 1 car we didn't sleep well cause.of bed and pillows and also the rooms arw so noisy we listened to Indian man on his phone for nearly 4 hrs at 4am he might as well.been next to me no apologies for the mistakes at breakfast then couldn't even say goodbye did we enjoy our stay as was roo busy talking to more stagg members never again horrid awful not family run atall now but needs looking at and big changes if bosses read this pls email me

We stayed for 1 night . Room 37 looking over the channel . Beautiful view . Lovely decoration . Clean , good size bathroom , smart TV , lots of storage . The hotel is beautiful, nice seats outside that you can grab some sun! Pool was nice , clean , warm and nice to have in the hotel . Breakfast was really nice , cooked to order . Staff were really friendly, helpful . ****Reason for 4 stars not 5 … The Bed Mattress wasn’t the best , could do with being replaced . As the room is at the top of the stairs , it was very noisy with people going back to their rooms . Overall we would recommend this hotel and would love to come back .

Having just arrived back from The Channei View hotel i have to say it was a very positive experience. I arrived on the monday late afternoon with a group of mainly senior citizens once the check in was completed by a very efficient reception team it was time to unwind before dinner 1 or 2 minor hitches were resolved very quickly & with minimum fuss by Kim the general manager. The meals were very good & the restaurant staff worked as quickly & efficiently as they could to get everyone served within a reasonable timescale. I cannot comment on the evenings entertainment but it seemed to be enjoyed by those who joined in. All in all a well run hotel that is showcasing the Isle of Wights youth by giving them the opportunity to work in the hospitality business . A Big well done to Kim & all the staff at The Channei View Shanklin for making the peoples break a relaxing one

The staff were very friendly and helpful,the food was very tasty.the rooms were clean and very comfortable. As having work in the hotel business the standards were what I set for myself. I will be back in the near future. I did a lot of walking and the breakfast set me up for the day. My sincere thanks to all the staff PB KEEFE

We've just returned from a coach trip and we just wanted to thank all the staff for their friendliness. Special thanks to Shannon who looked after table 6 also to Andy and Em. Nothing was too much trouble. Wednesday nights entertainment was a bonus 🤣

Recent coach trip, the ladies occupying restaurant Table 26 thank all the young staff who looked after us, they were cheerful, polite and very obliging, especially Livvy Parr who was our main waitress. One of our party had special dietary needs and thanks to Livvy, who, at just about every meal checked with the kitchen, making sure ingredients would not present any health issues. It was agreed senior management and chefs fell short of our expectations.

Booked after reading reviews. Cannot think this was the same hotel that I thought would be good after I had read them. Food was dreadful. Hardly cooked veg and rotten potatoes. Inedible. Room was dirty with soiled bedding. Never again would stay at this hotel.

The pillows were awful need replacing wouldn't have gone if I'd known but took notice of other reviews none of which I recognised. The meals were pretty dire porage was a solid block needed a knife and fork. Continental breakfast was a slice of cheese out of a packet and slice of cheap ham and a croissant which was raw in the middle served on a warm plate. Cold poached eggs on hot toast. Not one decent meal. Stay

Very quiet time of year so only a few guests at the hotel. Hotel was clean and there were very friendly staff who acknowledged you as you passed by. Great breakfast with choices of English or croissant and toast, cereals and fruit. We had a great sea view but the only downside was poor or no tv signal so was unable to watch anything. Some nice pub/restaurants on the promenade with a friendly a**osphere and nice food. Great outdoor seating area for when the weather is good too. As we went out of season the hotel restaurant was closed as was any entertainment although the bar was open if you wanted a drink. I’d definitely go back to Channel View hotel in Shanklin but when the weather was more settled.
