Sifnaika Konakia ~ Armada Residence

This was our third time staying at Sifnaika Konakia, and we’re definitely coming back for a fourth. It just feels like home. The room is spacious and comfy, with a veranda that has amazing views of the mountains and sea. It’s super quiet and relaxing. Maria and the team are always so friendly and welcoming, and the breakfast is fantastic with fresh, homemade goodies.

We enjoyed our time here. The homemade breakfast and quick morning chats made this place feel like a second home. The owner gave great hiking tips and looked out for us when she asked if we booked rentals yet (we didn’t at the time ) and she said better hurry cause it’s usually gone! She was right! We still managed around bus but that was good tip by the owner. The terrace is very relaxing to eat every morning. It is also equipped with outdoor drying rack. You might encounter the cats on your terrace :) Location is 8-10 minutes from the port. Far enough to be away from the noise but close enough to visit quickly. There is a convenient store nearby if you wish to stick up. The water is also drinkable as advised by the owner: we were fine!

Where to start? As I sit in the ferry leaving beautiful Sifnos, I want to make sure I write a fulsome review. The owner Maria- I felt like I was visiting my aunt/sister/ long lost friend. Depending on your age, you may think she’s your mom or daughter. Nicest, warmest, loving person. Nice sons. Truly lovely family. Location- perfect and peaceful but convenient. 5 minute walk from town and beach. But in an idyllic setting amongst fields and farms. It is so quiet. Yet you hear far off roosters in the morning, owls at night, cicadas, donkeys, sheep and goat bells. Views of mountains, sea and farms all around. The rooms and structure- unique and lovingly created. Hand-picked antiques and interesting art. *This is (luckily) not a modern upscale cookie-cutter hotel. As you walk the grounds, you’ll find lounge chairs from which to watch the sunset, a hammock, swingsets, jacuzzi. You’l see gnomes, guitars, books all around. Umbrellas for beach. Water fountains. Lots of kittens and cats (well taken care of). Views- many of the higher elevation rooms have sea views. We had a garden level without sea views. BUT although normally a deal breaker, our room was perfect. As we sat on our comfortable terrace drinking our coffee and looking at the mountains and farms all around, we felt the hypnotic calm of being in a far off farm. The other benefit of the garden level rooms is you can walk off your patio into the gardens and to or from breakfast and reception seamlessly. All rooms have balconies or terraces. Breakfast is amazing and homemade. We would never stay anywhere but here.

Excellent host, breakfast was delicious and room spotless. Highly recommend if you want to experience the classic Greek hospitality! Maria made us feel so welcomed and also loved her Sunday chickpea soup.! Would definitely visit again!

My wife and I spent 3 nights at Sifnaika Konakia as part of a multi island trip. Situated just outside the town of Kamares, Sifnaika is just a few minutes walk from the beach and restaurants. The room was decorated in traditional Greek style and came with a balcony overlooking the surrounding countryside and sea. Our host, Maria was excellent and a mine of information about the island. We didn’t want to leave, and will certainly return in the not too distant future.

A fairytale place where you feel at always at home! the owner Maria is always available and smiling! Every morning she prepares a delicious and very varied breakfast and on Sunday she offers her unforgettable chickpea soup!🔝Convenient location to reach the center and the beach of Kamares

We were warmly welcomed by Maria who couldn’t be more helpful and informative Sifnaika Konami’s is a beautiful setting and our rooms were lovely. Breakfast is superb with home made cakes what more could you ask We will return as soon as we can

This was our fourth visit to Sifnos and we've always returned here, which shows how much we like it! Just a few minutes' walk up from Kamares bay, this is a really well-designed collection of rooms, each with it's own separate entrance, private terrace, en-suite and kitchenette. These are at different levels set around sun terraces, shady trees, lovely views (the bay one side, fields with goats and chickens the other). There's a veranda with loads of books and games, a children's play area, a hot tub and more. Cats (of course, it's Greece!) and tortoises share the space. The owner, Maria, lives on-site and manages everything, brilliantly. She is so welcoming and treats all her guests as personal friends. Her breakfasts are great too, always with something extra that she's cooked, made or baked herself. It's our Greek home-from-home, a little bit of paradise on a wonderful island.

If you are looking for Greek hospitality, this is not the place to go. You will be „nickeled and dimed“ at every turn. From our initial contact with the owner suggesting we could carry the luggage uphill to the hotel from the ferry, to warnings about extra costs for fresh towels, using the AC during the day and having breakfast in the common area. The whole breakfast setup is unpleasant. You are not allowed to serve yourself, but the owner doles out the food. The coffee tasted so weak as if it had run twice through the filter. The owner makes you carry a tray with your breakfast up steep stairs to your room and asks you to bring it back. We skipped breakfast after the first day. Unfortunately in our room the terrace offered in the mornings no shade and no privacy to the next door unit. It was basically unusable because of a loud AC unit blowing hot air in your back. Advertised beach loungers and beach umbrellas were not available. Upon request, the owner tried to gaslight us by providing on day four kiddie folding chairs and a flimsy umbrella. Add to that drainage issues in the bathroom sink and shower that she had the nerve to blame on us, plus ants! The exchanges with her were so toxic that we seriously considered moving to a new hotel. Fellow travelers beware, Sifnos is a wonderful island that you should enjoy in a hotel that offers true Greek hospitality.
