Village Hotel Changi by Far East Hospitality

The driver of the shuttle bus is helpful in the morning. But the check-in experience is really a nightmare. I didn’t feel any warm welcome. The lady handled us with a cold face. Even though she made a wrongly luggage given upon check-in, at least she was trying to help at some time. The manager in grey wasn’t trying to help at any time when I tried to ask for help as a customer with a simple request. He just expressed his rudeness, impatience and arrogance.He even tried to argue and blame for his customer the way he treated me as a troublemaker maker not a customer, which made me my whole experience rather uncomfortable. There are several ants found in the room. The bedside table and bathtub are dirty. However, I don't want to argue anymore about this cause I was really tired that day.When I tried to call the front desk several times for an extra blanket, the was no answer for 10 minutes. When I tried to check downstairs, I saw a long queue there then I can show some understanding. By the way, the lobby staff there listened to me and delivered the blanket very soon. His helpfulness made me a bit warmer. However, the check-in experience is awful, I was even introduced to the 8th floor outdoor swimming poor for rest in a rainy day, which was ridiculous but was their only way to solve my request. Village Hotels is a chain brand in the Singaporean market. I don't know what is your strategy and brand value. I want to say you may not care about the Chinese market. Sometimes the hotel facilities are not easy to improve, but the customer care and basic service sense is simple but very important. Pls treat your customer with the basic respect and professionalism. Especially your manager's task is trying to calm down and solve guest's problem as soon as possible not to make your customer more embarrassing and uncomfortable. The manager power should not be used in such way in a hospitality industry. If your customer writes such a long comments and suggestion, it means he still has some expectation on your brand. On the other way, you can also treat it as a trash talk and we just don't need to have any connection in the future. In the end thanks for the driver and the lobby staff that day. They made me a bit warmer at the some junction of time.

The room is spacious and facing the sea despite an obstructed view. Overall facilities are still in good working conditions depiste an "old" hotel. Overall stay has been very pleasant and hotel provides free parking too. 2nd time staying in this hotel.

We booked the rooms for a birthday celebration. We would highly recommend this hotel due to the following: 1. Hotel rooms are clean and spacious. 2. Customer service team is very friendly and patient 3. Hotel gave a small gift and birthday card for birthday celebration. 4. Kids love to swim at the infinity pool. 5. There are many restaurants, convenience stores and hawker centers within walking distance which is excellent.

We got complimentary early check in from the front desk which was much appreciated. Rooms were descent size. Showing abit of age. Location is far from everywhere but overall a great stay.

Pros: Generally quite a clean and comfortable stay. Pleasant frontdesk service. I love it that there were not one but two pools: the rooftop pool offered great views and strong winds, but it can get crowded. The pool at ground level was great to swim in too, especially when we had the whole pool to ourselves. Charming neighborhood with a village energy, with lots of food options that highlight flavours of local cuisine. Walking distance to the beach for those inclined. Cons: The state of the hotel is noticeably old: Unsightly rust streaks cake the building walls facing the interior courtyard. I appreciate being assigned a room with a balcony, but the balcony felt a tad dirty. The variety of TV channels for viewing is satisfactory, but the (antenna?) connection was so bad that screen resolution is affected (even the local channels!). WiFi is serviceable but rather slow.

Counter staff is friendly, explained the facilities around the hotel. And intro-ed about the new restaurant beside the swimming pool level. The location is a bit remote, but you can still find food within a 6-minute walk, and there is a bus stop within a 10-minute walk. There is no MRT nearby. There is only a bus stop. The bed and pillows are very comfortable. However, there are some ants on the table in the room😅.

Check in was fast and they even provide a snacks station with oranges and drinks for us. The hotel is near to many amenities. Varieties of food are available. Walking to the beach is less than 10mins walk. We enjoyed our stay. Everything is ok for the room except that the toilet is without bidet. 😀

I have the best experience with this hotel. My boyfriend secretly prepared a surprise with the hotel for me. Throughout the stays, the staff have been nothing but nice, going above and beyond to make this stay extra special for my partner and i. (Giving a cake for my belated birthday, helping my boyfriend set up the anniversary suprise) I deeply greatly and appreciative for all they done. The room is what it is as show on the picture. You get decent space, with all the necessary amenities especially at this reasonable price. The location is abit far from city area (take around 30min at least to central). However the food option at changi was great especially for muslim. There is many delicious halal option for everyone. Overall it is a place that i would definitely like to stay again.
