Lovely stay at Hotel Stellina. It is a charming and rustic hotel typically Greek. Its very pretty to look at the grounds are big the a large swimming pool. The breakfast was sufficient. Rooms basic but had everything you needed. Staff were very welcoming and friendly. Special thanks to Thaila and Nikos and also to Maria. Will be back.

The studio was excellent, clean, ideal location, lovely view from Upper balcony, the sister of the owner, sorry dont know her name kept the studio spotless and changed bedding towels and other items on the Mon and Wed of the week I was there. If I had any minor point to make it would be, some shelves in the wardrobe for tee shirts etc as it was only for hanging garments! I would definitely recommend this studio to anyone and would return to it in the future.

Arrived at the Stellina hotel, after picking up a broken suitcase from the airport. We were greeted, filled in our paperwork and were allocated rooms 302& 304,the rooms were basic Greek large bright and airy with a view from the good size balcony of the side of the hotel grounds and down the main road. The bathroom was a good size with a good shower and hot water. The room had single beds ( we had booked a double) but they were comfy, there was a very good hairdryer and for once in a position next to the dressing table. There was a standard size fridge with a freezer compartment, the wardrobe had plenty of hangers however this apart from a small drawer in the dressing table was the only storage.Unfortunately 4 days into our stay Skiathos had terrible storms lasting 2 days delivering 6 months rain and our room was flooded. We spent the night in reception and later the following day we were allocated a new room. This room was on the ground floor dark hardly any sun on the balcony, a small fridge, and nowhere to store anything The bathroom was tiny no shower curtain 2 concrete blocks making up the tray, nowhere to hang anything, the floor would be swimming after a shower. It was like living in a cell. However the beds were comfy. There was 1 decent electric socket, the one at the bedside didn’t even have casing. No hairdryer in this room when I asked at reception they didn’t have one for me therefore I had to buy one at the supermarket. ( It did state hairdryer in room on the amenities) The breakfast was dreadful same thing every morning a 2 slice toaster that you may have at home but I think most have 4 slices, this was for everybody’s use so you ca imagine how long it took.2 mornings no sliced bread only cut baguette slices, one family brought their own. The Stellina has a huge pool with plenty of beds which have seen better days and which are uncomfortable, the mattresses were dirty & stained, there were 2 thick comfy ones and 4 pvc type which were my preference. ****s on the path were there when we arrived and still there when we went, grass not cut such a shame. No bar in the evening once the pool area was closed. The bar did some food and served beer in ice cold glasses, music was played via a JBL speaker which you could only hear around the bar so no atmosphere what so ever around the pool. The hotel has so much potential large grounds & patio areas, Cleaning Staff work really hard. An easy walk into town either along the main road or a side street past houses farms and villas which brought you out on the seafront restaurants before the port. I didn’t have a bad holiday but it wasn’t the best & I don’t think I’ll be returning to Skiathos, and definitely not the Stellina.

The staff at the Stelina Hotel were fantastic. Thalia especially, gave advice on the best places to go, restaurants to eat and booked a super ‘Mamma Mia’ boat trip for us. Lovely big pool, although could do with some more sun beds (as there is plenty of room for them) but there’s also comfortable seats in the shade under the trees. Breakfast was plentiful where you can sit outside and look out at the pool area. Rooms are basic but have plenty of space and a fridge is an added bonus. You can pay extra to use the AC which was needed in Aug! It’s a 10-15 minute walk into Skiathos town and taxis are only 5 euros back. All in all, a lovely stay!

First of all the room was very clean and spacious but I think somehow we got a family room. The ground and around the pool needs a lot of attention, it was all very overgrown, grass growing up in between the flagstones down to and around the pool. There are some lanterns around the pool covered with overgrown bushes, sun bed covers stained and ripped, sun-beds old and creaky. The grout in the pool on close inspection had black moss, obviously hadn’t had a good scrub this year should have been white, pool water looked clean. Our shower door was partly missing. Only one door when there should have been two, so not the best. The food at the pool bar was very limited, gyros club sandwich, toasted ham or cheese sandwich, and salad - that was it. The pool bar closed at 6pm and the pool closed at 8pm. The place looked very tired and unkept. Staff at the hotel were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was a very strange variety, one time there was cooked cauliflower with paprika on offer. There was a regular household toaster available, just for 2 slices of bread which looked like it had been purchased from a supermarket, very cheap and meant that queues could be quite lengthy. Sorry for the negativity on this review, but this is no way two star hotel, don’t get me wrong it could be 2/3 stars if the owner would be willing to spend some money. Jet2 need to get on top of this one. We have always had great holidays with Jet2 but this one didn’t hit the mark by a long way.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the Stellina, however there were some issues. The strong points of this hotel are the staff- who are fantastic, very helpful, supportive and pleasant. Our holiday was booked through Jet2holidays for a two-week family holiday of 5 adults across 2 bookings. When we arrived at the hotel we were allocated rooms that were not ideal and sadly not close to each other (we asked jet2 if our rooms could be close together and were advised this would be passed on however it didn’t happen for whatever reason). Our surnames are all the same but this was not taken into consideration when allocation of rooms was undertaken, as our room allocation was random. We were told the rooms couldn’t be changed (we had one on the first floor and one on the third floor). A few things to point out for the room on the first floor which was a triple room; 1. the fridge could have been colder, even though it was on maximum, ice cubes could not be made, 2. it was quite small for three adults (could have been more comfortable with a family size room), 3. more suitable/larger storage facilities would have been a positive addition for this room, 4. Replacement of clean towels was an issue at times but was resolved, 5. With regards to the tile floor cleanliness and balcony area, we had to wear flip flops or feet would end up dirty, 6. Air con was not the most efficient for €10 a night. The room on the third floor was a double room, the positives include 1. it was airy due to the high ceiling so usually got a nice breeze, 2. This room had a lovely view overlooking Skiathos Town. However, issues included 1. the shower head in bathroom could have been tighter to wall as was hard to control and 2. the front door would not close properly without locking which was a bit of nuisance and we did report to reception. Hopefully this can be fixed. In terms of the public areas, the pool was large and child friendly and was great with plenty of sun beds (potentially more umbrellas needed). There were also shady areas with table and chairs. However, although presented well, the breakfast buffet was limited in its selection and variety. Please note: only one toaster for two slices at a time- forming a queue and often came out burnt. Every day there would be a different selection of food (excellent scrambled eggs). In general, the pool bar, breakfast hall and surrounding area decor looks dated, tired and unimaginative so would benefit from a refresh and updating. On a final note, please note: we found it to be a good 15-20 minute walk from the Old Port area- partly up hill, on a busy road, with sections of unpaved pavements to get to the hotel. Not ideal at night for walking in the road and avoiding traffic. We would recommend Hotel Stellina on the basis of the helpful and cheery staff as well as it’s value for money. Remember it is a budget hotel and has the basics to enjoy your holiday. Thank you to all the staff!

Me and my partner enjoyed a lovely week in Skiathos, staying in this hotel in July. I can honestly say I enjoyed every second of my holiday here!! I'm not going to lie, when my boyfriend told me he'd booked a weeks holiday for us at the Stellina Hotel, I looked it up and was instantly scared about what we were going to be staying in due to the bad reviews! When we arrived, I was very apprehensive and already thinking negative things. We were welcomed by a lovely gentleman on the reception called Nicos and his manager, Maria. They were very welcoming and friendly. The reception is very Greek which I loved, it's so nice to see a hotel holding onto its culture. All the walls, outside and inside, were so white and clean which, with hot sun and the plants, instantly relaxed me. We were unhappy with our room, it had two single beds. When we booked with Jet2, we booked a double room, but the hotel said this does not guarantee you a double bed. They said the Greeks word things differently to Jet2, and if you would like a double bed in your double room, you must email the hotel and they can accommodate this - just a prewarning for anyone wanting to guarantee a double bed. We did mention this to our Jet2 rep, but unfortunately he couldn't do anything to change it and we can't be bothered to email Jet2 higher. However, Nicos, very kindly upgraded us to a family room with a double bed and pool view which was lovely. And the walls were so high, the room stayed so cool that we hardly needed our air con on. Breakfast was included, it was a small buffet, but something for everyone, food was lovely. A big shout out to Vaso, who works incredibly hard, there's also a small lunch menu at extra cost which does a very tasty Gyros. Yannis, the bar man, what an absolute legend!! He works from 10am-10pm and literally doesn't stop working all day! He makes the best Mojitos and his Aperol Spritz are awesome aswell! Be careful of his shots, haha, the lollipop flavoured one was my favourite. The whole team became very good friends over our weeks stay here, I've never known a hotel to be so comforting and family like. Everyone holds a special memory to me and I would come back year after year to see them! Skiathos is a beautiful island, this hotel is about a 5 minute walk from a supermarket and bus stop to get you to the beaches. Its also only about a 10 minute walk from the town that has amazing restaurants and shops. It's also a very quick bus transfer from the airport and there's something amazing about seeing the planes flying above you. We quickly realised we don't need all inclusive, large hotels to have a good holiday! This lovely small 2* hotel gave us a 5* experience. Thank you everyone at Stellina!
