Arco Beach Hotel

Arrived late in the evening but fast check and was pleasantly surprised by the room. Lots of storage and very clean. We had paid for a sea view room but was a little disappointed by at best a partial sea view. In a very good position close to the beach, tavernas and bus stops to get around the island which is very easy. Breakfast was plentiful and very good. Staff were friendly and helpful and reception helped us book a quad bike which was a great help and really great fun to get off the main road and explore. We stayed for the last two weeks of the season and maybe we didn't get the best out of the amenities as staff were leaving for home and getting ready to shut down for the winter. Lovely selection of Tavernas nearby and a stunning quiet island to explore. This hotel is a little dated but is clean and comfortable and staff are great. Would stay again.

The rooms were nice and views good.Staff were friendly and swimming pool area,dining area all good.One major problem was the overpowering unpleasant smell from outside which meant we could not open the balcony doors.

Stayed at this hotel in September 23, hotel is set in lovely gardens, staff are lovely helpful & friendly. Hotel it self is tired looking, our room was large, comfortable bed, bathroom ok actually had place for towels but horrible plastic curtain in shower that stuck to you! Lots of storage in bedroom, balcony was really tiny with table & chairs that just about fitted. The pool area was nice with comfortable sunbeds but there was only pizza or baquette available to eat (not sure if this was because of the recent floods but no other food available) The breakfast was good loads of different things to chose from including hot food (eggs, bacon etc) A few guests had mobility problems & found the lay out differcult to get around, especially as lift out of order for 3 days. There was no food in the evening & the bar is in the main part by reception but nothing seemed to be going on there & it shut at 11.00pm. Again not sure if this was because of the recent floods or was the normal practice/ Overall everywhere needed updating especially the toilets by the pool, if you want to use as a base its fine, just a few minutes from the beach (again only a bar & no food - not sure if that was due to floods!) Sorry but definiately not a 3 (+) as rated by Jet2. Had a nice time but would not go back. Could be made into a great place if some money was spent on it to upgrade.

We booked our holiday to the Arco with tui in about April but much to our surprise on the day before departure I had a phone call from them apologising but apparently the hotel had overbooked the rooms and we didn't have one.On the plus side the lady asked would we mind going to the princess hotel on the other end of the beach.It meant swapping a 3 star for a 5 star at no extra cost but as we'd stayed there last year it was a no brainer.so we can't comment on the Arco but I did walk down there first morning and I would say we had a good result we'd booked it having read the hotels web site saying it had had a total returb but it obviously hadn't since we stayed there in about 2012. Great location and a comfy bed. That's my 2 stars... This hotel needs an upgrade. Grubby bathrooms and rooms too. No kettle but a small fridge. Beds not changed in a week. Towel change once. Breakfast was not very good, we only went down a couple of times. The pool area is OK, but the pool doesn't look inviting.. Pool bar staff sit around smoking and canoodling with each other rather than be at the bar looking busy and cheerful, I found them to be unapproachable.. Asked for a drink menu.. Didnt have one.. Beach is lovely and so is the Area. But sadly the hotel isn't quite were it needs to be in order for it to draw me back. Lots of better options.. In my opinion I believe that all the money this hotel is generating, it's not being reinvested into the hotel. More likely lining the greedy owners pockets. That are never there to support the staff. Who are clearly over worked and not happy.. Look for something better, it's out there...

Brilliant location, really close to the beach and very comfy beds. The breakfast was OK, some variety each day and lots of fresh fruit. The hotel staff were friendly and accommodating. Our bedroom was cleaned each day but towels and sheets were only changed once in the 7 days we were there. We had a balcony but it overlooked the bins and was very small, but we were able to hang our clothes to dry. The bathroom looked newly renovated but the whole bathroom flooded every time we took a shower! Pool area is very basic and a little dirty - we sat there one afternoon and decided we would rather be at the beach. Overall, a great location for different beaches, restaurants and the bus stop but both bedrooms and communal areas could do with some TLC.

What can we tell you, we have been here now a few days are still here and are really very happy with the Arco. Very clean, very friendly, great location, great hospitality, good beach, excellent local tavernas. Typical ethnic Greek hotel run efficiently and lacking very little. If you go expecting a 5 star resort you will be upset and picky, but if you know and love Greece and like happy well run very clean and very friendly smallish hotel, then you will be extremely satisfied. Welcoming happy staff, extremely comfy sunbeds by the pool, excellent Greek style breakfast lacking little and very sweet rooms. Cannot find fault. Look no further if the above is as important to you as it is to us. Sylvie Justice

The location of the hotel is excellent The breakfast was very good The common areas of the hotel were clean and well appointed The sunbeds were excellent and plentiful However The pool had a rim of green scum around it And as for our room well it was nothing like the pictures on the website or the TUI website There was no room for a bedside table on one side of the bed in general the room was compact The bathroom was horrible broken tiles a shower that worked when it wanted to flow and temperature continually varying and the space between the shower and shower curtain meant that you kept brushing against it There were no lights that could be operated from the bed except the one bedside light The balcony was tiny and we were unable to take advantage of the sea view we had paid for because of the noise and heat being generated from the air conditioning unit We complained to TUI and after 4 days they offered to move us to a marginally better room which we declined as we only had a couple of days left

Just returned from our 8th visit to Skiathos, first to this hotel. First of all the pros: Excellent position in Agia Paraskevi, right next to the beach, just a short walk across the grass. Very close to many good restaurants, supermarkets etc. The staff are all really friendly and very helpful and are a real asset to the hotel. Breakfasts are very good and there was always a good selection. The room had lots of wardrobe and cupboard space and the bed was extremely comfortable. Our room cleaner was very good, room cleaned, towels and bed linen replaced regularly. Pool towels can be changed every day at reception. There was no extra charges for air con or the room safe.I The Wi-Fi is very good and you can get connected from your room and all over the hotel, even from the edge of the beach! Now for the cons (and this is just my humble opinion) We requested a 'refurbished' room, but unfortunately we were allocated one that wasn't. Having searched a lot on the internet I could only find photos showing a bathroom with a really nice looking, modern shower cubicle, with jets etc. Unfortunately, these must have been very old photos as our shower was awful! None of the jets worked at all, the top part of the shower only dribbled water out on one inner setting and therefore the only alternative was to use the lower shower hose attachment which had hardly any power and again just dribbled out. I should have realised what the little white plastic stool was provided for! Apparently you were supposed to sit on it and shower - it really didn't help as the pressure was still very bad and washing my rather long hair became a real nightmare. I will try and attach a photo of the shower. I found the bathroom very small in general, sitting on the loo you were forever banging your elbow on the shower door. The large shallow sink wasn't great for washing out swimming costumes etc as you had to be careful not to swish the water out over the floor. There was nowhere to put anything, no hook behind the door to hang anything and very little space either side of the sink to put toiletries etc. I was informed by the owner that this room was going to be refurbished. No full length mirror in the room. The balcony with the garden view was cool and dark and never got any sunshine at all and to make things worse, it was situated directly above the pool toilets/showers and the smell from the drains was really strong! Lastly, and again this is just my opinion, the swimming pool was made out of cement with very sharp stones set into it! I have never seen this before and I have severe problems with my feet, after 3 operations and metal pins, my feet are quite sensitive and I usually have to wear aqua shoes in the sea. I attempted to get into the pool but it was just too painful to walk on for me. I must add that others seemed to have no problem, but I was disappointed and stuck to the beaches. I must also add that we booked our holiday very late and only garden view rooms
